Leveraging Faraday's principle of electromagnetic induction, this sophisticated device measures conductive fluids with unmatched accuracy. Through continuous enhancements, the ZYDC flow meter now stands at the pinnacle of national excellence in excitation technology, lining technology, and intelligent capabilities. It adheres strictly to standards such as JB/T9248-2015 and JJG 1033-2007, ensuring superior performance and reliability.

Installation Instructions
 

The installation of the electromagnetic flowmeter varies depending on the site pipeline conditions. Flowmeters without a ball valve should be installed on a non-pressurized pipeline, as a non-pressurized installation allows the selection of flowmeters without this feature.
Create a precise 50mm diameter hole in the pipeline, ensuring preparations are in place to weld a connecting pipe to this opening.
For applications requiring continuous flow during loading and unloading, or where media overflow is unacceptable, a ball valve is essential. In such cases, select an insertion-type electromagnetic flowmeter equipped with a ball valve structure.
A 50mm diameter hole must be made in the pipeline, with preparations for welding a connecting pipe to this opening.

The installation requires straight pipe sections of 5D upstream and 3D downstream. This ensures the electromagnetic flowmeter operates correctly and maintains accuracy.

The electromagnetic flowmeter's measurement principle is independent of flow characteristics.
If turbulence and vortices occur in non-measurement areas of the pipeline (such as near elbows, tangential throttling points, or partially open shut-off valves upstream), measurement accuracy remains unaffected.

However, steady-state vortices within the measurement area will compromise measurement stability and accuracy.
To stabilize flow distribution in such cases, consider the following measures:

  1. Increase the length of the straight pipe sections upstream and downstream.
  2. Use a flow stabilizer.
  3. Reduce the cross-section at the measurement point.
  1. Requirements for the external environment
    1. Avoid installing the flowmeter in areas with significant temperature fluctuations or high-temperature radiation from equipment. If unavoidable, implement insulation and ventilation measures.
    2. Prefer indoor installation for the flowmeter. If outdoor installation is necessary, ensure it is protected from rain, flooding, and direct sunlight by using moisture-proof and sun-proof measures.
    3. Installation in environments with corrosive gases should be avoided. If necessary, ensure proper ventilation measures are in place.
    4. Provide ample installation space around the flowmeter for ease of installation, maintenance, and upkeep.
    5. Avoid installing the flowmeter in locations with magnetic fields or strong vibration sources. If significant vibration is present in the pipeline, support the pipeline on both sides of the flowmeter to stabilize it.

1.2. Pipeline-type electromagnetic flowmeter

2.1. Requirements for straight sections To mitigate the effects of vortices and flow field distortion, specific lengths for the straight pipe sections upstream and downstream of the flowmeter are required. Failure to meet these requirements will affect measurement accuracy. Installing a straightener helps, and avoid placing the flowmeter near control or partially open valves.

2.2. Requirements for the process pipes The electromagnetic flowmeter has specific requirements for upstream and downstream process pipes at the installation point. The inner diameter of these pipes must match the sensor: 0.98DN ≤ D ≤ 1.05DN (where DN is the sensor's inner diameter, and D is the process pipe's inner diameter). The process pipe and the sensor must be concentric, with axial deviation not exceeding 0.05DN.

2.3. Requirements for Bypass Pipes To ensure seamless maintenance and longevity of the flowmeter, installing a bypass pipe is highly recommended. This is especially crucial for managing heavily contaminated fluids and for scenarios where the flowmeter requires cleaning without halting fluid flow. a. Facilitate seamless maintenance of the flowmeter. b. Essential for managing heavily contaminated fluids. c. Maintain fluid flow during flowmeter cleaning operations.

3. Installation Requirements for Insertion-Type Electromagnetic Flowmeters

3.1. Requirements for Straight Pipe Sections Inlet/Outlet Straight Pipe Sections: For optimal performance, the inlet should be ≥ 10×DN and the outlet should be ≥ 5×DN.

3.2. Requirements for Grounding Points To ensure the highest level of operational reliability and measurement accuracy, the instrument must remain unaffected by external parasitic potentials. It is critical that the sensor is properly grounded with a grounding resistance of less than 10. (A dedicated grounding device is not required if the metal pipeline is already well-grounded.)

3.3. Requirements for Installation Position As depicted in the accompanying diagram.
