Installation Requirements

Piping Condition
The installation of the vortex flowmeter demands a specific straight pipe section both upstream and downstream. The common scenarios are as follows (D represents the pipe's diameter):

The sensor must be installed on a horizontal, vertical, or inclined pipe (with the liquid flowing from bottom to top) that matches the sensor's diameter. Ensure a certain length of straight pipe: 15-20D upstream and 5-10D downstream.
2.
The pipe near the liquid sensor must be filled with the liquid being measured.
3.
Avoid installing the sensor on pipes subject to strong mechanical vibrations.
4.
Ensure the inner diameter of the straight pipe section is as close as possible to the sensor diameter. If not identical, opt for a slightly larger pipe with an error ≤3% and not exceeding 5mm. Avoid locations with strong electromagnetic interference, limited space, or difficult maintenance..
5.
Horizontal pipeline installation is the most common for flow sensors. When measuring gas flow with a small amount of liquid, install the sensor at a higher point in the pipeline. Conversely, when measuring liquid flow containing a small amount of gas, install the sensor at a lower point.
6.
Sensor installation in vertical pipelines: For gas flow, install on a vertical pipeline with no flow direction restriction. If the gas contains a small amount of liquid, ensure flow from bottom to top. For liquid flow, the flow should be from bottom to top to avoid additional weight on the probe.
7.
Side installation on horizontal pipelines: Suitable for superheated steam, saturated steam, and low-temperature liquids. Side mounting is preferred, as it minimizes temperature impact on the amplifier.
8.
Inverted installation on horizontal pipelines is generally not recommended. It is unsuitable for general gases or superheated steam but can be used for saturated steam and high-temperature liquids or pipelines needing frequent cleaning.
9.
For pipelines with insulation layers, when measuring high-temperature steam, the insulation layer should not exceed one-third of the bracket height.
10.
Selection of pressure and temperature measurement points: When pressure and temperature measurement near the sensor is required, the pressure point should be 3-5D downstream, and the temperature point should be 6-8D downstream.
