Installation Instructions
 

The installation procedure for the High Accuracy Electromagnetic Flowmeter with Wireless Transmission and IP67 Rating is tailored to the specific pipeline conditions at the site. When using flowmeters without a ball valve, ensure installation on non-pressurized pipelines, allowing a seamless integration.
Create a precise hole with a 50mm diameter in the pipeline, and prepare to weld a connecting pipe to this newly created opening.
For continuous flow scenarios during loading and unloading, or to prevent media overflow, incorporate a ball valve. This necessitates using an insertion-type electromagnetic flowmeter equipped with a ball valve structure.
Ensure a 50mm diameter hole is drilled into the pipeline, and make necessary preparations for welding a connecting pipe to the opening.

The operating principle of the electromagnetic flowmeter remains unaffected by the flow characteristics.
Turbulence and vortices in non-measurement areas, such as those caused by elbows, tangential throttling, or partially open upstream shut-off valves, do not compromise measurement accuracy.

Conversely, steady-state vortices within the measurement zone can destabilize and reduce measurement accuracy.
In such cases, consider the following measures to stabilize the flow distribution:

  1. Extend the length of the upstream and downstream straight pipe sections.
  2. Install a flow stabilizer.
  3. Minimize the cross-sectional area at the measurement point.
  1. Optimal External Environment Requirements
    1. Avoid installing the flowmeter in areas with drastic temperature variations or high-temperature radiation from nearby equipment. If unavoidable, implement insulation and ventilation.
    2. Prefer indoor installations for the flowmeter. For outdoor installations, protect it from rain, flooding, and direct sunlight with moisture-proof and sun-proof measures.
    3. Avoid environments containing corrosive gases. If installation in such areas is necessary, ensure appropriate ventilation.
    4. Maintain ample space around the flowmeter for ease of installation, maintenance, and servicing.
    5. Position the flowmeter away from magnetic fields and sources of strong vibrations. If the pipeline experiences substantial vibrations, stabilize it with supports on both sides of the flowmeter.

1.2. Pipeline-type Electromagnetic Flowmeter

2.1. Straight Section Requirements To mitigate vortex effects and flow field distortions, specific lengths for upstream and downstream straight pipe sections are mandated. Failure to comply will affect measurement accuracy. Installing a straightener is advisable, and avoid proximity to control valves and partially open valves.

2.2. Process Pipe Requirements The flowmeter demands precise specifications for upstream and downstream process pipes at the installation point to ensure measurement accuracy. a. The inner diameter of these pipes must align with the sensor's diameter, within the range of 0.98DN ≤ D ≤ 1.05DN. b. The process pipe and sensor must be concentric, with an axial deviation not exceeding 0.05DN.

2.3. Requirements for Bypass Pipes To ensure seamless and efficient maintenance of your high-accuracy electromagnetic flowmeter, the installation of a bypass pipe is highly recommended. This is particularly crucial in scenarios involving heavily contaminated fluids or when the flowmeter requires cleaning without halting fluid movement. a. Facilitates easy maintenance of the flowmeter. b. Essential for handling heavily contaminated fluids. c. Enables flowmeter cleaning without interrupting fluid flow.

3. Installation Requirements for Insertion-Type Electromagnetic Flowmeters

3.1. Requirements for Straight Pipe Sections For optimal performance of the insertion-type electromagnetic flowmeters, the straight pipe sections must adhere to the following guidelines: Inlet straight pipe section should be ≥ 10×DN; Outlet straight pipe section should be ≥ 5×DN.

3.2. Requirements for Grounding Points To guarantee the reliable operation and enhanced measurement accuracy of the instrument, it is imperative to prevent interference from external parasitic potentials. The sensor should be adequately grounded, maintaining a grounding resistance of less than 10 ohms. (Note: If the metal pipeline is already well-grounded, an additional dedicated grounding device is not necessary.)
