Electromagnetic Flow Meter Product Overview.
The ZYDC electromagnetic flow meter consists of two parts: a sensor and a converter. It operates based on Faraday's electromagnetic induction law and is used to measure conductive fluids. The ZYDC electromagnetic flow meter is a high-precision and highly reliable product that has been continuously upgraded and improved. This flow meter has achieved a leading level in the country in terms of excitation technology, lining technology, and intelligent technology, and complies with relevant standards such as JB/T9248-2015 and JJG 1033-2007.

Installation Instructions
 

The installation of the Thread Electromagnetic Flowmeter with High Reliability and Wireless Transmission by Shandong Zhongziyi Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. varies depending on the site pipeline conditions. For flowmeters without a ball valve, installation should be on a non-pressurized pipeline, allowing the selection of flowmeters without a ball valve.
A hole with a diameter of 50 should be made in the pipeline, and preparations should be made to weld a connecting pipe to the opening in the pipeline to ensure a secure fit.
For scenarios requiring continuous flow during loading and unloading or where media overflow is not permitted, a ball valve must be integrated. This necessitates selecting an insertion-type electromagnetic flowmeter with a ball valve structure.
A hole with a diameter of 50 should be made in the pipeline, and preparations should be made to weld a connecting pipe to the opening in the pipeline to facilitate installation.

The measurement principle of the electromagnetic flowmeter remains unaffected by the characteristics of the flow, ensuring consistent performance.
Even if turbulence and vortices are generated in the non-measurement area of the pipeline (such as elbows, tangential throttling, or a partially open shut-off valve upstream), it will not impact the measurement accuracy.

However, if steady-state vortices occur in the measurement area, they will affect the stability and accuracy of the measurement. Appropriate measures are required to address this.
In such cases, the following measures should be taken to stabilize the flow distribution:

  1. Increase the length of the straight pipe sections upstream and downstream for better flow stabilization.
  2. Use a flow stabilizer to maintain a consistent flow rate.
  3. Reduce the cross-section of the measurement point to enhance measurement precision.
  1. Requirements for the External Environment
    1. The flowmeter should be installed away from areas with significant temperature fluctuations or high-temperature radiation. If installation is unavoidable, insulation and ventilation measures are imperative.
    2. Ideally, the flowmeter should be installed indoors. If outdoor installation is necessary, it must be protected against rain, flooding, and direct sunlight, with proper moisture-proof and sun-proof measures in place.
    3. Avoid installing the flowmeter in environments containing corrosive gases. If installation in such environments is essential, adequate ventilation measures must be implemented.
    4. To facilitate installation, maintenance, and upkeep, ensure ample installation space around the flowmeter.
    5. The installation site should be free from magnetic fields and strong vibration sources. If significant vibration exists in the pipeline, supports should be provided on both sides of the flowmeter to stabilize it.

1.2. Pipeline-type Electromagnetic Flowmeter

2.1. Requirements for Straight Sections To mitigate the effects of vortices and flow field distortion, adhere to specific requirements for the lengths of the straight pipe sections upstream and downstream of the flowmeter. Failure to do so will affect measurement accuracy. Using a straightener and avoiding installation close to control valves and partially open valves are advisable.

2.2. Requirements for the Process Pipes The flowmeter has specific requirements for the upstream and downstream process pipes at the installation point to ensure measurement accuracy. a. The inner diameter of the upstream and downstream process pipes should match the sensor's inner diameter, meeting the condition: 0.98DN ≤ D ≤ 1.05DN (where DN is the sensor's inner diameter, and D is the process pipe's inner diameter). b. The process pipe and sensor must be concentric, with an axial deviation not exceeding 0.05DN.

2.3. Requirements for Bypass Pipes For seamless maintenance of the flowmeter, it is highly recommended to install a bypass pipe. This is especially crucial for handling heavily contaminated fluids and situations where the flowmeter must be cleaned without halting fluid flow. a. Streamlined maintenance of the flowmeter. b. Essential for heavily contaminated fluids. c. Allows cleaning without stopping fluid flow.

3. Installation Requirements for Insertion-Type Electromagnetic Flowmeters

3.1. Requirements for Straight Pipe Sections Inlet/Outlet Straight Pipe Sections: To ensure optimal performance, the inlet should be ≥ 10×DN, while the outlet should be ≥ 5×DN.

3.2. Requirements for Grounding Points To guarantee reliable instrument operation and enhance measurement precision, it is essential to mitigate the influence of external parasitic potentials. Ensure the sensor is well-grounded with a grounding resistance of less than 10. (Note: If the metal pipeline is already well-grounded, an additional dedicated grounding device is unnecessary.)

3.3. Requirements for Installation Position Please refer to the accompanying diagram for precise installation positioning.
