It is ideal for measuring, monitoring, and controlling the flow of liquids, steam, and a broad spectrum of gases.

Installation Requirements

Piping Condition
For optimal performance, the installation of the vortex flowmeter necessitates specific straight pipe sections before and after the sensor. Here are the typical scenarios (D represents the pipe diameter):

The sensor must be installed on a horizontal, vertical, or inclined pipe (with the liquid flowing from bottom to top) with the same diameter as the sensor. Ensure there are adequate straight sections of the pipe both upstream and downstream, typically 15-20D for the upstream and 5-10D for the downstream sections.
2.
The pipe near the liquid sensor must be completely filled with the liquid being measured.
3.
Avoid installing the sensor on pipes with strong mechanical vibrations.
4.
Maintain consistency between the inner diameter of the straight pipe section and the sensor diameter. If this isn't possible, use a slightly larger diameter pipe with a maximum error of ≤3% and not exceeding 5mm. Avoid installing the sensor in areas with strong electromagnetic interference, limited space, or inconvenient maintenance..

Horizontal installation is most common for flow sensors. For gas flows containing minor liquid amounts, install the sensor at a higher point in the pipeline. For liquid flows with minor gas amounts, install the sensor at a lower point in the pipeline.
6.
For vertical pipelines, the sensor can be installed without flow direction constraints when measuring gas. For gas flows with minor liquid amounts, ensure the flow is from bottom to top. For liquid flows, the flow should be from bottom to top to prevent additional weight on the probe.
7.
Side-mounted sensors on horizontal pipelines are suitable for various fluids, including superheated steam, saturated steam, and low-temperature liquids. Side mounting is preferred when feasible, as it reduces temperature impact on the amplifier.
8.
Inverted sensor installation on horizontal pipelines is generally discouraged. It's unsuitable for measuring standard gases or superheated steam but can be used for saturated steam and high-temperature liquids, or in scenarios requiring frequent pipeline cleaning.
9.
When measuring high-temperature steam, ensure the insulation layer on the pipeline does not exceed one-third of the bracket height.
10.
Pressure and temperature measurement points: Position the pressure measurement point 3-5D downstream and the temperature measurement point 6-8D downstream from the sensor, depending on measurement requirements.
