This high-precision, reliable flow meter has undergone extensive upgrades to continually enhance performance. Installation Instructions
 

The installation of the ANSI Electromagnetic Flowmeter with High Precision and Easy Installation varies depending on the site pipeline conditions. For flowmeters without a ball valve, they should be installed on a non-pressurized pipeline, allowing for the selection of flowmeters without the need for a ball valve.
Create a 50mm diameter hole in the pipeline, and prepare to weld a connecting pipe to the pipeline opening.
For situations requiring continuous flow during loading and unloading, or where media overflow is not permitted, a ball valve must be installed. This necessitates the selection of an insertion-type electromagnetic flowmeter with a ball valve structure.
Create a 50mm diameter hole in the pipeline, and prepare to weld a connecting pipe to the pipeline opening.

The requirements for the straight pipe sections are 5D upstream and 3D downstream. This ensures proper use of the electromagnetic flowmeter and meets accuracy requirements.

The measurement principle of the electromagnetic flowmeter is independent of the flow characteristics.
If turbulence and vortices are generated in the non-measurement area of the pipeline (e.g., at elbows, tangential throttling, or partially open shut-off valves upstream), the measurement will remain unaffected.

However, steady-state vortices in the measurement area will impact the stability and accuracy of the measurement.
In such cases, certain measures should be implemented to stabilize the flow distribution:

  1. Increase the length of the straight pipe sections upstream and downstream.
  2. Use a flow stabilizer.
  3. Reduce the cross-sectional area at the measurement point.
  1. Requirements for the External Environment
    1. The flowmeter should avoid installation in areas with significant temperature fluctuations or exposure to high-temperature radiation from equipment. If installation is necessary, insulation and ventilation measures must be taken.
    2. The flowmeter is best installed indoors. If outdoor installation is necessary, it should be protected from rain, flooding, and direct sunlight, with moisture-proof and sun-proof measures in place.
    3. The flowmeter should be installed away from environments containing corrosive gases. If installation is necessary, adequate ventilation measures must be implemented.
    4. Ensure ample space around the flowmeter for easy installation, maintenance, and upkeep.
    5. The installation site should avoid magnetic fields and strong vibration sources. If pipeline vibration is significant, supports should be provided on both sides of the flowmeter to stabilize the pipeline.

1.2. Pipeline-type Electromagnetic Flowmeter

2.1. Requirements for Straight Sections To mitigate the effects of vortices and flow field distortion, specific lengths for the straight pipe sections upstream and downstream of the flowmeter are required; otherwise, measurement accuracy will be compromised (a straightener can be installed). It is advisable to avoid installation near control valves and partially open valves.

2.2. Requirements for the Process Pipes The flowmeter demands specific upstream and downstream process pipe conditions at the installation point to maintain measurement accuracy: a. The inner diameter of the upstream and downstream process pipes should match the sensor's inner diameter, and must satisfy the condition: 0.98DN ≤ D ≤ 1.05DN (where DN is the sensor's inner diameter, and D is the process pipe's inner diameter). b. The process pipe and sensor must be concentric, with an axial deviation not exceeding 0.05DN.

2.3. Requirements for Bypass Pipes To facilitate seamless maintenance of the flowmeter, it is highly recommended to install a bypass pipe. This is particularly crucial for heavily contaminated fluids and scenarios where continuous fluid flow is essential, even during maintenance. a. Ensures easy maintenance of the flowmeter. b. Mandatory for heavily contaminated fluids. c. Allows for cleaning without stopping fluid flow.

3. Installation Requirements for Insertion-Type Electromagnetic Flowmeters

3.1. Requirements for Straight Pipe Sections For optimal performance, the flowmeter should be installed with straight pipe sections. The inlet section should be at least 10 times the diameter of the pipe (10×DN), and the outlet section should be at least 5 times the diameter of the pipe (5×DN).

3.2. Requirements for Grounding To ensure the instrument's reliable operation and accurate measurements, it must be free from external parasitic potentials. The sensor should be properly grounded, with a grounding resistance of less than 10 ohms. (If the metal pipeline already has good grounding, additional grounding devices are not required.)

3.3. Installation Position Requirements Please refer to the accompanying diagram for precise installation positioning.
