Installation Requirements

Piping Condition
The installation of vortex flowmeter requires a specific straight pipe section both before and after the meter. Common configurations are as follows (D represents the pipe diameter):

The sensor should be installed on a horizontal, vertical, or inclined pipe (with the liquid flowing bottom to top) that matches the sensor's diameter. Ensure a straight pipe section of 15-20D upstream and 5-10D downstream.
2.
The pipe near the sensor should be fully filled with the liquid being measured.
3.
Avoid installing the sensor on pipes with significant mechanical vibrations.
4.
The inner diameter of the straight pipe section should match the sensor's diameter as closely as possible. If not, use a slightly larger pipe with a diameter error of ≤3% and not exceeding 5mm. Avoid areas with strong electromagnetic interference, cramped spaces, or where maintenance is inconvenient..
5.
Horizontal pipeline installation is common. For gas flow with some liquid, install the sensor at a higher point. For liquid flow with some gas, install it at a lower point.
6.
Vertical pipeline sensor installation is permissible. For gas flow, install without direction restrictions. If the gas has some liquid, flow should be bottom to top. For liquid flow, ensure it goes bottom to top to avoid extra weight on the probe.
7.
Side installation on horizontal pipelines is applicable for all fluids, especially for superheated steam, saturated steam, and low-temperature liquids. Side mounting minimizes temperature impact on the amplifier.
8.
Inverted installation on horizontal pipelines is generally discouraged. It's unsuitable for common gases or superheated steam but can measure saturated steam and high-temperature liquids or in situations requiring frequent pipeline cleaning.
9.
For insulated pipelines with high-temperature steam, ensure the insulation layer is no more than one-third of the bracket height.
10.
Pressure and temperature measurement points should be positioned based on measurement needs. The pressure point should be 3-5D downstream, and the temperature point 6-8D downstream of the sensor.
