Installation Instructions
 

To ensure seamless installation of the electromagnetic flowmeter, it is crucial to consider the site pipeline conditions. When selecting a flowmeter without a ball valve, installation should occur on a non-pressurized pipeline.
Prepare the pipeline by creating a 50mm diameter hole and weld a connecting pipe to the opening, ensuring a robust and secure connection.
For continuous flow scenarios or where media overflow is prohibitive, an insertion-type electromagnetic flowmeter with a ball valve structure is essential.
Similarly, for insertion-type flowmeters, create a 50mm diameter hole in the pipeline and weld a connecting pipe to the opening for optimal installation.

The electromagnetic flowmeter's measurement principle remains unaffected by flow characteristics.
Turbulence and vortices in non-measurement areas, such as those caused by elbows or partially open valves, will not impact measurement accuracy.

However, steady-state vortices within the measurement area can compromise measurement stability and accuracy.
In such cases, measures to stabilize the flow distribution should be considered:

  1. 1. Extend the length of straight pipe sections both upstream and downstream.
  2. 2. Incorporate a flow stabilizer.
  3. 3. Reduce the cross-section at the measurement point.
  1. Requirements for the External Environment
    1. Avoid installing the flowmeter in areas with significant temperature fluctuations or exposure to high-temperature radiation. If unavoidable, implement insulation and ventilation measures.
    2. Indoor installation is preferred. For outdoor installations, ensure protection from rain, flooding, and direct sunlight with appropriate moisture-proof and sun-proof measures.
    3. Installations in environments containing corrosive gases should include ventilation measures to protect the flowmeter.
    4. Ensure ample installation space around the flowmeter to facilitate easy installation, maintenance, and upkeep.
    5. Avoid installation near magnetic fields and strong vibration sources. For pipelines with significant vibration, support both sides of the flowmeter to stabilize the pipeline.

1.2. Pipeline-type Electromagnetic Flowmeter

2.1. Requirements for Straight Sections To maintain measurement accuracy, adhere to specific lengths for upstream and downstream straight pipe sections to mitigate vortices and flow distortion. Installing a straightener and avoiding proximity to control valves is also advisable.

2.2. Requirements for Process Pipes Ensure the upstream and downstream process pipes match the sensor's inner diameter (0.98DN ≤ D ≤ 1.05DN) and are concentric with an axial deviation of no more than 0.05DN for precise measurements.

2.3. Requirements for Bypass Pipes To ensure seamless maintenance and optimal performance of the flowmeter, it is highly recommended to install a bypass pipe. This is particularly crucial for fluids with heavy contamination or in scenarios where cleaning the flowmeter without halting the fluid flow is necessary. Key points include: a. Facilitating easy maintenance of the flowmeter. b. Essential installation for heavily contaminated fluids. c. Enables flowmeter cleaning without interrupting fluid flow.

3. Installation Requirements for Insertion-Type Electromagnetic Flowmeters

3.1. Requirements for Straight Pipe Sections To maintain accurate measurements, specific straight pipe sections are required. The inlet pipe section should be at least 10 times the diameter of the nominal pipe size (≥ 10×DN), while the outlet pipe section should be at least 5 times the diameter of the nominal pipe size (≥ 5×DN).

3.2. Requirements for Grounding Points For ensuring the reliable operation and high measurement accuracy of the instrument, it is imperative to avoid external parasitic potentials. The sensor must be well-grounded, with grounding resistance kept below 10 ohms. Note: If the metal pipeline is already well-grounded, a dedicated grounding device is not necessary.
