Your satisfaction through our timely and superior service is our top priority.The installation of the electromagnetic flowmeter varies depending on the site pipeline conditions. If a ball valve is not required, it should be installed on a non-pressurized pipeline. This scenario allows for the selection of flowmeters without a ball valve.
Prepare the pipeline by creating a hole with a diameter of 50. Then, weld a connecting pipe to this opening to ensure a secure fit.
For continuous flow requirements during loading/unloading or to prevent media overflow, a ball valve must be incorporated. This necessitates choosing an insertion-type electromagnetic flowmeter with a ball valve structure.
Similar to non-pressurized installations, create a 50-diameter hole in the pipeline and weld a connecting pipe to the opening.

Ensure the straight pipe sections meet the requirements of 5D upstream and 3D downstream. This alignment is essential for the proper functionality and accuracy of the electromagnetic flowmeter.
The electromagnetic flowmeter's measurement principle operates independently of the flow characteristics.
Even if turbulence and vortices are present in the non-measurement area of the pipeline (like elbows, tangential throttling, or partially open shut-off valves upstream), they will not affect the flowmeter's measurement.
However, steady-state vortices within the measurement area can compromise the stability and accuracy of the flowmeter's readings.
In such cases, implement measures to stabilize flow distribution:
1.2. Pipeline-type electromagnetic flowmeter
2.1. Requirements for Straight Sections There are criteria for the lengths of the straight pipe sections upstream and downstream to mitigate vortices and flow field distortion. Failure to meet these can impact measurement accuracy. Installing a straightener and avoiding placement near control or partially open valves is recommended.
2.2. Requirements for the Process Pipes The upstream and downstream process pipes must align with the flowmeter's specifications to ensure accurate measurements. a. The inner diameters of these pipes should match the sensor's and meet the condition: 0.98DN ≤ D ≤ 1.05DN (where DN is the sensor's inner diameter, and D is the process pipe's inner diameter). b. The pipes and sensor must be concentric, with an axial deviation not exceeding 0.05DN.
2.3. Requirements for Bypass Pipes To ensure seamless maintenance of the flowmeter, it is highly recommended to install a bypass pipe. This is especially crucial for handling heavily contaminated fluids and scenarios where the flowmeter requires cleaning without interrupting fluid flow. a. Facilitates smooth maintenance and servicing of the flowmeter. b. Essential for managing heavily contaminated fluids. c. Ensures cleaning can be performed without halting fluid flow.
3. Installation Requirements for Insertion-Type Electromagnetic Flowmeters
3.1. Requirements for Straight Pipe Sections To achieve optimal performance, the following guidelines must be followed for straight pipe sections: Inlet straight pipe section should be equal to or greater than 10 times the nominal diameter (10×DN), and the outlet straight pipe section should be equal to or greater than 5 times the nominal diameter (5×DN).
3.2. Requirements for Grounding Points For assured reliable operation and enhanced measurement accuracy, the instrument must not be influenced by external parasitic potentials. The sensor should be properly grounded, with a grounding resistance of less than 10 ohms. (If the metal pipeline is properly grounded, a dedicated grounding device is not necessary.)
3.3. Requirements for Installation Position Refer to the illustration for precise installation positioning requirements.
