Installation Requirements

Piping condition
The installation of vortex flowmeter requires a certain straight pipe section before and after, and the common situations are as follows (D is the diameter of the pipe) :

The sensor should be installed on a horizontal, vertical, or inclined pipe (with liquid flowing bottom to top) matching the sensor's diameter. Ensure straight pipe sections meet the requirements: 15-20D for the front and 5-10D for the rear.
2.
The pipe near the liquid sensor should always be filled with the liquid being measured.
3.
Avoid installing the sensor on pipes with strong mechanical vibrations.
4.
The inner diameter of the straight pipe section should closely match the sensor's diameter. If not identical, use a slightly larger pipe with an error ≤3% and not exceeding 5mm. Avoid spots with strong electromagnetic interference, lack of space, or difficult maintenance..
5.
For horizontal pipeline installation, it's common for flow sensors. For gas with minimal liquid, install the sensor at a higher point. For liquid with minimal gas, install at a lower point.
6.
For vertical pipelines, when measuring gas flow, the sensor can be installed without flow direction restriction. If the gas contains liquid, flow should be bottom to top. For liquid measurement, flow should also be bottom to top to avoid extra weight on the probe.
7.
Side installation on horizontal pipelines is suitable for all fluids, especially superheated steam, saturated steam, and low-temperature liquids. Prefer side mounting to minimize temperature impact on the amplifier.
8.
Inverted installation on horizontal pipelines is generally not recommended. However, it can be used for saturated steam and high-temperature liquids, or when frequent cleaning is required.
9.
For pipelines with insulation layers measuring high-temperature steam, the insulation should not exceed one-third of the bracket height.
10.
Selecting pressure and temperature measurement points: Pressure measurement should be 3-5D downstream, and temperature measurement 6-8D downstream of the sensor.
