For flowmeters without a ball valve, installation should be on a non-pressurized pipeline, ensuring a seamless setup.
Create a 50mm diameter hole in the pipeline and prepare to weld a connecting pipe to this opening. This step is crucial for ensuring the stability and functionality of the flowmeter.
For applications requiring continuous flow during loading and unloading, or where media overflow is not permissible, it is necessary to incorporate a ball valve. This entails selecting an insertion-type electromagnetic flowmeter with a ball valve structure to maintain precision and control.
As previously noted, a 50mm diameter hole must be made in the pipeline, and preparations for welding a connecting pipe to the opening are imperative for proper installation.

However, steady-state vortices within the measurement area can compromise both stability and accuracy. Specific measures should be taken to mitigate this effect.
To stabilize the flow distribution, consider the following adjustments:

  1. Increase the length of the straight pipe sections upstream and downstream. This will smooth the flow and enhance measurement precision.
  2. Use a flow stabilizer to mitigate any turbulent effects that may influence the readings.
  3. Reduce the cross-section of the measurement point to ensure a more stable flow through the sensor.
  1. Requirements for the external environment
    1. The flowmeter should be placed in areas with minimal temperature fluctuations and away from high-temperature radiation sources. If installation in such locations is unavoidable, apply insulation and ventilation measures to protect the device.
    2. Ideally, install the flowmeter indoors to protect it from external elements. For outdoor installations, ensure it is sheltered from rain, flooding, and direct sunlight. Implement moisture-proof and sun-proof measures to safeguard the equipment.
    3. Avoid installing the flowmeter in environments containing corrosive gases. If such installation is necessary, ensure adequate ventilation to prevent damage.
    4. Ensure sufficient installation space around the flowmeter to facilitate maintenance and upkeep. This also aids in proper ventilation and reduces potential for operational issues.
    5. Install the flowmeter away from magnetic fields and strong vibration sources. If pipeline vibration is high, provide supports on both sides of the flowmeter to stabilize the pipeline and ensure accurate measurements.

1.2. Pipeline-type electromagnetic flowmeter

2.1. Requirements for straight sections To mitigate the effects of vortices and distortions in the flow field, adhere to specific lengths for the straight pipe sections upstream and downstream of the flowmeter. Proper alignment ensures measurement accuracy and reliability. A flow straightener may also be considered, and avoid installing the flowmeter close to control valves and partially open valves.

2.2. Requirements for the process pipes The flowmeter has precise requirements for the upstream and downstream process pipes at the installation point to maintain accuracy. a. Ensure the inner diameter of these pipes matches the sensor: 0.98DN ≤ D ≤ 1.05DN (where DN is the sensor's inner diameter, and D is that of the process pipe). b. The process pipe and sensor must be concentric, with an axial deviation not exceeding 0.05DN.

2.3. Requirements for Bypass Pipes To ensure seamless maintenance of the flowmeter, it is highly recommended to install a bypass pipe. This becomes crucial when dealing with heavily contaminated fluids or in circumstances where the flowmeter needs cleaning without halting fluid flow. a. Facilitates easy maintenance of the flowmeter. b. Essential for handling heavily contaminated fluids. c. Allows cleaning without stopping the fluid flow.

3. Installation Requirements for Insertion-Type Electromagnetic Flowmeters

3.1. Requirements for Straight Pipe Sections Ensure optimal performance by adhering to the following straight pipe section requirements: Inlet should be ≥ 10×DN; Outlet should be ≥ 5×DN.

3.2. Requirements for Grounding Points To guarantee reliable operation and enhance measurement accuracy, the flowmeter must be protected from external parasitic potentials. The sensor requires effective grounding with a resistance of less than 10. (If the metal pipeline is already well-grounded, an additional grounding device is unnecessary.)

3.3. Requirements for Installation Position Refer to the provided diagram for precise installation positioning.
