Installation Instructions
 

The installation of the Good Repeatability Electromagnetic Flowmeter with Wireless Transmission and Easy Mounting by Shandong Zhongziyi Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. depends on site pipeline conditions. If opting for a flowmeter without a ball valve, it should be installed on a non-pressurized pipeline. The non-pressurized installation allows for the selection of flowmeters that do not feature a ball valve.
Create a 50mm diameter hole in the pipeline and prepare to weld a connecting pipe to the opening, ensuring a secure and stable setup.
For operations requiring continuous flow during loading and unloading or where media overflow must be avoided, a ball valve is essential. In such cases, select an insertion-type electromagnetic flowmeter that incorporates a ball valve structure.
Again, create a 50mm diameter hole in the pipeline and prepare to weld a connecting pipe to the opening, securing the flowmeter in place.

The measurement principle of this electromagnetic flowmeter is independent of the flow characteristics, ensuring reliable performance.
Even if turbulence and vortices are generated in non-measurement areas of the pipeline (like elbows, tangential throttling, or partially open shut-off valves upstream), they will not affect the flowmeter's measurement accuracy.

However, steady-state vortices in the measurement area can impact stability and accuracy. Addressing this issue is crucial for optimal performance.
In such cases, implement measures to stabilize the flow distribution:

  1. 1. Increase the length of the straight pipe sections both upstream and downstream.
  2. 2. Utilize a flow stabilizer.
  3. 3. Reduce the cross-section of the measurement point.
  1. Requirements for the external environment
    1. Avoid installing the flowmeter in areas with significant temperature fluctuations or high-temperature radiation from equipment. If unavoidable, ensure proper insulation and ventilation measures.
    2. For best results, install the flowmeter indoors. If outdoor installation is necessary, protect it from rain, flooding, and direct sunlight by implementing moisture-proof and sun-proof measures.
    3. Avoid environments containing corrosive gases. If installation in such environments is necessary, ensure adequate ventilation measures.
    4. To facilitate easy installation, maintenance, and upkeep, leave ample installation space around the flowmeter.
    5. Avoid installing the flowmeter near magnetic fields and strong vibration sources. If the pipeline experiences significant vibration, provide supports on both sides of the flowmeter to stabilize it.

1.2. Pipeline-type Electromagnetic Flowmeter

2.1. Requirements for straight sections To reduce the impact of vortices and flow field distortion, specific lengths for the straight pipe sections upstream and downstream of the flowmeter are required. Failure to adhere to these requirements can affect measurement accuracy. Consider installing a straightener and avoid positioning too close to control and partially open valves.

2.2. Process pipe requirements The flowmeter requires specific conditions for the upstream and downstream process pipes at the installation point to maintain measurement accuracy. a. The inner diameter of the upstream and downstream process pipes should match that of the sensor and meet the condition: 0.98DN ≤ D ≤ 1.05DN (where DN is the sensor's inner diameter, and D is the process pipe's inner diameter). b. The process pipe and the sensor must be concentric, with an axial deviation not exceeding 0.05DN.

2.3. Requirements for Bypass Pipes To ensure seamless maintenance of your flowmeter, we highly recommend installing a bypass pipe. This is especially crucial for systems handling heavily contaminated fluids or requiring cleaning without halting the fluid flow. a. Facilitates seamless maintenance of the flowmeter. b. Essential for handling heavily contaminated fluids. c. Necessary for cleaning the flowmeter without stopping the fluid flow.

3. Installation Requirements for Insertion-Type Electromagnetic Flowmeters

3.1. Requirements for Straight Pipe Sections Inlet/Outlet Straight Pipe Sections: Ensure the inlet section is at least 10 times the nominal diameter (≥ 10×DN) and the outlet section is at least 5 times the nominal diameter (≥ 5×DN). This is crucial for optimal measurement accuracy.

3.2. Requirements for Grounding Points To guarantee the instrument's reliable operation and enhance measurement accuracy, it is imperative to avoid external parasitic potentials. The sensor must have exceptional grounding, with a grounding resistance of less than 10 ohms. (If the metal pipeline is already well-grounded, an additional dedicated grounding device may not be required.)

3.3. Requirements for Installation Position Refer to the accompanying diagram for precise installation positioning requirements.
