Installation Requirements

Piping condition
The installation of the vortex flowmeter necessitates certain straight pipe sections both before and after the meter. The typical configurations are as follows (D represents the pipe diameter):

The sensor should be mounted on horizontal, vertical, or inclined pipes (with liquid flowing upwards). The pipe diameter should match that of the sensor. Ensure straight pipe sections of 15-20D upstream and 5-10D downstream for optimal performance.
2.
Ensure the pipe near the liquid sensor is fully filled with the liquid being measured.
3.
Avoid installing the sensor on pipes experiencing strong mechanical vibrations.
4.
The inner diameter of the straight pipe should closely match the sensor's diameter. If they differ, use a slightly larger pipe with an allowable error of ≤3% and not exceeding 5mm. Avoid installation in areas with significant electromagnetic interference, restricted space, or where maintenance is challenging..
5.
Horizontal pipeline installation is most common for flow sensors. For gas flows with minimal liquid, position the sensor at a higher point. For liquid flows with minimal gas, install the sensor at a lower point.
6.
Sensor installation on vertical pipelines is permissible for gas flows. If gas contains slight liquid, install from bottom to top. For liquid flows, position the flow upwards to prevent excess weight on the probe.
7.
For horizontal pipelines, side installation suits all fluids, particularly superheated steam, saturated steam, and low-temperature liquids. Side mounting minimizes temperature effects on the amplifier, making it ideal when feasible.
8.
Inverted sensor installation on horizontal pipelines is usually discouraged. It's not ideal for general gases or superheated steam but can measure saturated steam and high-temperature liquids or when frequent pipeline cleaning is necessary.
9.
For pipelines with insulation layers measuring high-temperature steam, ensure the insulation does not exceed one-third of the bracket height.
10.
Selecting pressure and temperature measurement points: For optimal accuracy, position the pressure measurement point 3-5D downstream and the temperature measurement point 6-8D downstream of the sensor.
