Installation Requirements

Piping Condition
The installation of the High Accuracy Vortex Flowmeter for Liquid and Gas Applications requires specific straight pipe sections before and after the sensor. The common scenarios are as follows (D is the diameter of the pipe):

The sensor should be mounted on a horizontal, vertical, or inclined pipe (with liquid flowing from bottom to top) that matches the sensor's diameter. Ensure sufficient lengths of straight pipe upstream (15-20D) and downstream (5-10D) of the sensor.
2.
The pipe near the liquid sensor should be completely filled with the liquid being measured.
3.
Avoid installing the sensor on pipes experiencing strong mechanical vibrations.
4.
The inner diameter of the straight pipe should align as closely as possible with the sensor's diameter. If a match is not feasible, use a slightly larger pipe with a diameter error of ≤3% and not exceeding 5mm. Do not place the sensor in areas with strong electromagnetic interference, constrained space, or where maintenance is inconvenient..

Horizontal pipeline installation is most common. For gas flow measurement containing a small amount of liquid, install the sensor at a higher point in the pipeline. For liquid flow containing a small amount of gas, place the sensor at a lower point.
6.
Vertical pipeline sensor installation: For gas flow measurement, the sensor can be installed without restricting flow direction. If the gas contains liquid, ensure the gas flows from bottom to top. For liquid flow, the liquid should also flow from bottom to top to prevent extra weight on the probe.
7.
Side installation on horizontal pipelines: Sensors can be side-mounted regardless of fluid type, especially for superheated steam, saturated steam, and low-temperature liquids. If feasible, side mounting is preferred to reduce temperature effects on the amplifier.
8.
Inverted installation on horizontal pipelines is generally not recommended and is unsuitable for general gases or superheated steam. It can be used for saturated steam and high-temperature liquids, or in situations requiring frequent pipeline cleaning.
9.
For pipelines with insulation layers, ensure the insulation does not exceed one-third of the bracket height when measuring high-temperature steam.
10.
Selecting pressure and temperature measurement points: For measurements near the sensor, position the pressure measurement point 3-5D downstream and the temperature measurement point 6-8D downstream of the sensor.
