Installation Requirements

Piping Condition
The installation of the vortex flowmeter necessitates a specific straight pipe section both upstream and downstream. The typical configurations are as follows (D represents the pipe diameter):

The sensor must be mounted on a horizontal, vertical, or inclined pipe (where liquid flows from bottom to top) with the same diameter as the sensor. Ensure a straight pipe length of 15-20D upstream and 5-10D downstream for optimal performance.
2.
The pipe surrounding the liquid sensor must be completely filled with the liquid being measured.
3.
Avoid installing the sensor on pipes that experience strong mechanical vibrations.
4.
The inner diameter of the straight pipe section should match the sensor diameter as closely as possible. If not, use a slightly larger pipe with an error margin of ≤3% and not exceeding 5mm. Avoid installation in areas with strong electromagnetic interference, constrained space, or challenging maintenance conditions. Installation requirements.
5.
Horizontal pipeline installation is the most common method for flow sensors. For gas flow measurements containing small amounts of liquid, place the sensor at a higher point in the pipeline. For liquid flow measurements containing small amounts of gas, place the sensor at a lower point in the pipeline.
6.
Vertical pipeline sensor installation. For gas flow measurements, the sensor can be installed on a vertical pipeline with no flow direction restriction. If gas contains liquid, position the flow from bottom to top. For liquid flow measurements, position the liquid flow from bottom to top to minimize additional weight on the probe.
7.
Side installation of sensors on horizontal pipelines. Side mounting is viable for all fluids, including superheated steam, saturated steam, and low-temperature liquids. When conditions permit, side mounting is preferred to reduce temperature impact on the amplifier.
8.
Inverted sensor installation on horizontal pipelines is generally inadvisable. It is unsuitable for general gases or superheated steam but can measure saturated steam and high-temperature liquids or situations necessitating frequent pipeline cleaning.
9.
When measuring high-temperature steam, the insulation layer around the sensor should not exceed one-third of the bracket height.
10.
Pressure and temperature measurement point selection. When both measurements are needed near the sensor, position the pressure measurement point 3-5D downstream and the temperature measurement point 6-8D downstream.
