Installation Requirements

Piping Condition
The installation of the Gas Vortex Flowmeter requires specific straight pipe sections both upstream and downstream. Here are the common scenarios (D represents the diameter of the pipe):

The sensor should be installed on a horizontal, vertical, or inclined pipe (with the liquid flowing from bottom to top) that matches the sensor's diameter. Ensure a straight pipe length of 15-20D upstream and 5-10D downstream of the sensor.
2.
The pipe near the liquid sensor must be filled with the liquid being measured.
3.
Avoid installing the sensor on pipes experiencing strong mechanical vibrations.
4.
The straight pipe's inner diameter should closely match the sensor diameter. If not, use a slightly larger diameter pipe with an error margin of ≤3%, not exceeding 5mm. Do not install in areas with strong electromagnetic interference, limited space, or difficult maintenance conditions. Installation requirements:.
5.
Horizontal pipeline installation is most common. For gas flow measurement with minor liquid content, place the sensor at a higher point. For liquid flow measurement with minor gas content, place the sensor at a lower point in the pipeline.
6.
Vertical pipeline installation for gas flow can be done without flow direction restriction. For gas containing minor liquid, the flow should be from bottom to top. For liquid flow, it should also be from bottom to top to avoid adding weight to the probe.
7.
Side installation on horizontal pipelines is suitable for all fluids, especially superheated steam, saturated steam, and low-temperature liquids. Side mounting is preferred to reduce temperature impact on the amplifier.
8.
Inverted installation on horizontal pipelines is generally discouraged. It is unsuitable for general gases or superheated steam but can be used for saturated steam and high-temperature liquids, or when frequent cleaning is needed.
9.
For pipelines with insulation layers measuring high-temperature steam, ensure the insulation does not exceed one-third of the bracket height.
10.
When pressure and temperature need measuring near the sensor, position the pressure point 3-5D downstream and the temperature point 6-8D downstream of the sensor.
