Piping condition
The installation of vortex flowmeter requires a certain straight pipe section before and after, and the common situations are as follows (D is the diameter of the pipe) :

The sensor should be installed on a pipe that is horizontal, vertical, or inclined (with the liquid flowing from bottom to top) and matches the diameter of the sensor. Ensure a straight pipe section both upstream and downstream, with lengths of 15-20D and 5-10D, respectively.

The pipe near the liquid sensor should be filled entirely with the liquid being measured.

Avoid installing the sensor on pipes subject to strong mechanical vibrations.

The inner diameter of the straight pipe section should closely match the sensor diameter. If not, use a slightly larger pipe with an error ≤3% and not exceeding 5mm. Avoid locations with strong electromagnetic interference, limited space, or inconvenient maintenance..

Horizontal pipeline installation is most common. For gas with some liquid content, place the sensor at a higher point. For liquid with some gas, place the sensor at a lower point.
6.
Vertical pipeline installation for gas flow should be directional from bottom to top if the gas contains liquid. For liquid flow, ensure it moves from bottom to top to reduce probe weight.
7.
Side-mounted sensors on horizontal pipelines are ideal for superheated steam, saturated steam, and low-temperature liquids. Side-mounting minimizes temperature impacts on the amplifier.
8.
Inverted installation on horizontal pipelines is generally not recommended except for saturated steam and high-temperature liquids. It is useful where frequent cleaning is needed.
9.
For pipelines with insulation layers, when measuring high-temperature steam, ensure the insulation does not exceed one-third of the bracket height.
10.
Pressure and temperature measurement points should be positioned based on requirements. The pressure point should be 3-5D downstream and the temperature point 6-8D downstream of the sensor.
