Installation Instructions
 

The installation of the high reliability electromagnetic flowmeter varies depending on site pipeline conditions. Flowmeters without a ball valve should be installed on a non-pressurized pipeline, allowing for the selection of flowmeters without this feature.
Create a 50mm diameter hole in the pipeline and prepare to weld a connecting pipe to the opening.
For continuous flow during loading and unloading, or when media overflow is not permitted, a ball valve is essential. This necessitates selecting an insertion-type electromagnetic flowmeter with a ball valve structure.

The measurement principle of the electromagnetic flowmeter remains unaffected by flow characteristics.
If turbulence and vortices arise in the non-measurement area of the pipeline (due to elbows, tangential throttling, or partially open shut-off valves upstream), it won't impact the measurement.

However, steady-state vortices in the measurement area can compromise measurement stability and accuracy.
To ensure stable flow distribution, consider the following measures:

  1. Increase the length of the straight pipe sections upstream and downstream.
  2. Use a flow stabilizer.
  3. Reduce the cross-section of the measurement point.
  1. Requirements for the External Environment
    1. Avoid installing the flowmeter in areas with significant temperature fluctuations or high-temperature radiation. If necessary, use insulation and ventilation.
    2. Preferably install the flowmeter indoors. If outdoor installation is required, protect it from rain, flooding, and direct sunlight, using moisture-proof and sun-proof measures.
    3. Avoid installing the flowmeter in environments with corrosive gases. If unavoidable, ensure proper ventilation.
    4. Ensure ample installation space around the flowmeter for ease of installation, maintenance, and upkeep.
    5. Avoid installing the flowmeter near magnetic fields and strong vibration sources. For pipelines with significant vibration, provide supports on both sides of the flowmeter to stabilize the pipeline.

1.2. Pipeline-type Electromagnetic Flowmeter

2.1. Requirements for Straight Sections To mitigate the effects of vortices and flow field distortion, adhere to specific lengths of upstream and downstream straight pipe sections; otherwise, measurement accuracy will be compromised. A straightener can also be installed, and avoid installation close to control and partially open valves.

2.2. Requirements for Process Pipes The flowmeter has specific requirements for upstream and downstream process pipes at the installation point; otherwise, measurement accuracy will be compromised. a. The inner diameter of the upstream and downstream process pipes should match the sensor, adhering to 0.98DN ≤ D ≤ 1.05DN (where DN is the sensor's inner diameter, and D is the process pipe's inner diameter). b. The process pipe and sensor must be concentric, with an axial deviation not exceeding 0.05DN.

2.3. Requirements for Bypass Pipes To ensure seamless maintenance of the flowmeter, it is highly recommended to install a bypass pipe. For heavily contaminated fluids and scenarios where the flowmeter requires cleaning without halting the fluid flow, installing a bypass pipe becomes essential. a. Facilitates flowmeter maintenance effortlessly. b. Essential for managing heavily contaminated fluids. c. Allows uninterrupted fluid flow during flowmeter cleaning.

3. Installation Requirements for Insertion-Type Electromagnetic Flowmeters

3.1. Requirements for Straight Pipe Sections Inlet/Outlet Straight Pipe Sections: For optimal performance, ensure the inlet is ≥ 10×DN and the outlet is ≥ 5×DN.

3.2. Grounding Point Requirements To guarantee reliable instrument operation and enhance measurement precision, it is critical to avoid the influence of external parasitic potentials. The sensor must be well-grounded, with grounding resistance below 10. (If the metal pipeline is sufficiently grounded, a dedicated grounding device is not necessary.)

3.3. Installation Position Requirements As illustrated in the accompanying diagram, adhere to the specified installation positions.
