Installation Instructions
 

The installation of the IP67 Electromagnetic Flowmeter from Shandong Zhongziyi Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. varies based on pipeline conditions. For non-pressurized pipelines, choose flowmeters without a ball valve.
Create a 50mm diameter hole in the pipeline and prepare to weld a connecting pipe to the opening.
For continuous flow needs during loading/unloading or to prevent media overflow, opt for an insertion-type electromagnetic flowmeter with a ball valve structure.

The measurement principle of our electromagnetic flowmeter is independent of flow characteristics.
Turbulence and vortices generated in non-measurement areas (like elbows, tangential throttling, or a partially open shut-off valve upstream) do not affect measurement.

However, steady-state vortices in the measurement area can affect stability and accuracy.
In such cases, consider these measures to stabilize flow distribution:

  1. Increase the length of upstream and downstream straight pipe sections.
  2. Use a flow stabilizer.
  3. Reduce the cross-section at the measurement point.
  1. Requirements for the External Environment
    1. Avoid installing the flowmeter in areas with significant temperature fluctuations or high-temperature radiation. If necessary, provide insulation and ventilation.
    2. Prefer indoor installation. If outdoor, protect the flowmeter from rain, flooding, and direct sunlight with moisture-proof and sun-proof measures.
    3. Avoid environments with corrosive gases. If installation is necessary, ensure proper ventilation.
    4. Provide ample installation space around the flowmeter to facilitate installation, maintenance, and upkeep.
    5. Avoid magnetic fields and strong vibration sources at the installation site. If the pipeline vibrates significantly, support both sides of the flowmeter to stabilize it.

1.2. Pipeline-type Electromagnetic Flowmeter

2.1. Requirements for Straight Sections To mitigate vortices and flow field distortions, maintain specific lengths of straight pipe sections upstream and downstream; otherwise, measurement accuracy is compromised (a straightener can be installed, and avoid proximity to control valves and partially open valves).

2.2. Requirements for Process Pipes Ensure the upstream and downstream process pipes at the installation point meet specific requirements to maintain measurement accuracy. a. The inner diameter of these pipes should match the sensor's inner diameter (0.98DN ≤ D ≤ 1.05DN, where DN is the sensor's inner diameter, and D is the process pipe's inner diameter). b. The process pipe and sensor must be concentric, with an axial deviation within 0.05DN.

2.3. Requirements for Bypass Pipes To ensure seamless maintenance and optimal performance of the flowmeter, installing a bypass pipe is highly recommended. In scenarios involving heavily contaminated fluids or when cleaning the flowmeter without halting the flow is necessary, a bypass pipe becomes indispensable. a. Simplifies the maintenance process of the flowmeter. b. Essential for handling heavily contaminated fluids. c. Enables cleaning without interrupting the fluid flow.

3. Installation Requirements for Insertion-Type Electromagnetic Flowmeters

3.1. Requirements for Straight Pipe Sections To maintain the accuracy and reliability of measurements, it is crucial to adhere to the following guidelines for straight pipe sections. Inlet/outlet straight pipe sections: Inlet must be ≥ 10×DN; Outlet must be ≥ 5×DN.

3.2. Requirements for Grounding Points For ensuring the reliable operation of the instrument and enhancing measurement precision, the sensor must be well-grounded to avoid interference from external parasitic potentials. The grounding resistance should be less than 10 ohms. (In cases where the metal pipeline already has a good grounding, a dedicated grounding device is not necessary.)

3.3. Requirements for Installation Position Refer to the accompanying diagram for precise installation positioning to ensure optimal performance and accuracy of the flowmeter.
