Installation Requirements

Piping Condition
For the optimal performance of your vortex flowmeter, the installation requires specific straight pipe sections both upstream and downstream. The common configurations are as follows (D represents the pipe diameter):

Ensure the sensor is mounted on a horizontal, vertical, or inclined pipe (with liquid flowing upward). The pipe should match the sensor diameter. Maintain straight pipe sections of 15-20D upstream and 5-10D downstream to ensure accurate measurements.
2.
Ensure the pipe near the liquid sensor is fully filled with the measured liquid.
3.
Avoid installing the sensor on pipes that experience strong mechanical vibrations.
4.
The inner diameter of the straight pipe should align as closely as possible with the sensor diameter. If a perfect match is unattainable, opt for a slightly larger pipe, ensuring the error remains ≤3% and does not exceed 5mm. Avoid locations with strong electromagnetic interference, limited space, or difficult maintenance..
5.
Horizontal pipeline installation is often preferred. For gas flow measurement, if the gas contains a small amount of liquid, place the sensor at a higher point in the pipeline. Conversely, for liquid flow measurement with minor gas content, position the sensor at a lower point in the pipeline.
6.
For vertical pipeline installation, there are no flow direction constraints for gas. If the gas contains liquid, ensure the flow ascends. When measuring liquid, ensure the flow moves from bottom to top to reduce probe weight impact.
7.
Horizontal pipeline side installation is viable for all fluid types, especially for superheated steam, saturated steam, and low-temperature liquids. Side-mounted sensors minimize the temperature's impact on the amplifier, making this method preferable if conditions allow.
8.
Inverted horizontal pipeline installation is generally discouraged. It is unsuitable for general gases or superheated steam but can measure saturated steam and high-temperature liquids or for pipelines requiring frequent cleaning.
9.
When installing sensors on insulated pipelines for high-temperature steam, ensure the insulation layer does not surpass one-third of the bracket height.
10.
Selecting pressure and temperature measurement points is crucial. For accurate readings, the pressure measurement point should be 3-5D downstream of the sensor, and the temperature measurement point should be 6-8D downstream.
