Utilizing Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction, it is designed for measuring conductive fluids with utmost precision. The ZYDC flow meter stands as a paragon of high accuracy and reliability, thanks to continuous enhancements. It sets national benchmarks in excitation, lining, and intelligent technologies, adhering to standards like JB/T9248-2015 and JJG 1033-2007.

Installation Instructions
 

The installation of the electromagnetic flowmeter varies depending on the site pipeline conditions. Flowmeters without a ball valve should be installed on a non-pressurized pipeline (i.e., non-pressurized installation allows for the selection of flowmeters without a ball valve).
A precise hole with a diameter of 50mm should be made in the pipeline, and preparations should be undertaken to weld a connecting pipe to the opening in the pipeline.
For situations that require continuous flow during loading and unloading or where media overflow is not permitted, a ball valve must be added. This necessitates selecting an insertion-type electromagnetic flowmeter equipped with a ball valve structure.
A precise hole with a diameter of 50mm should be made in the pipeline, and preparations should be undertaken to weld a connecting pipe to the opening in the pipeline.

To ensure proper use and meet accuracy requirements, the straight pipe sections must be 5D upstream and 3D downstream.

The electromagnetic flowmeter's measurement principle is unaffected by the flow characteristics.
Should there be turbulence and vortices generated in the non-measurement area of the pipeline (such as elbows, tangential throttling, or a partially open shut-off valve upstream), it will not impact the measurement.

However, if steady-state vortices occur in the measurement area, it will affect both stability and accuracy.
In such cases, measures should be enacted to stabilize the flow distribution:

  1. Increase the length of the straight pipe sections upstream and downstream.
  2. Use a flow stabilizer.
  3. Reduce the cross-section at the measurement point.
  1. Requirements for the External Environment
    1. The flowmeter should avoid installation in areas with significant temperature fluctuations or where it is subjected to high-temperature radiation from equipment. If installation is unavoidable, insulation and ventilation measures must be implemented.
    2. Ideally, the flowmeter should be installed indoors. If outdoor installation is necessary, it should be protected from rain, flooding, and direct sunlight, with adequate moisture-proof and sun-proof measures.
    3. The flowmeter should avoid environments containing corrosive gases. If installation is necessary, proper ventilation measures must be taken.
    4. To facilitate installation, maintenance, and upkeep, ensure ample installation space around the flowmeter.
    5. The installation site should avoid magnetic fields and strong vibration sources. If the pipeline experiences significant vibration, supports must be provided on both sides of the flowmeter to stabilize it.

1.2. Pipeline-type Electromagnetic Flowmeter

2.1. Requirements for Straight Sections To mitigate the effects of vortices and flow field distortion, there are specific requirements for the lengths of straight pipe sections upstream and downstream of the flowmeter. Failure to meet these requirements will affect measurement accuracy (a flow straightener can also be installed, and it is advisable to avoid installation close to control valves and partially open valves).

2.2. Requirements for Process Pipes The flowmeter has specific requirements for the upstream and downstream process pipes at the installation point; otherwise, measurement accuracy will be affected. a. The inner diameter of the upstream and downstream process pipes should match the sensor's inner diameter, and must meet the condition: 0.98DN ≤ D ≤ 1.05DN (where DN is the sensor's inner diameter, and D is the process pipe's inner diameter). b. The process pipe and the sensor must be concentric, with an axial deviation not exceeding 0.05DN.

2.3. Requirements for Bypass Pipes To ensure seamless maintenance of your flowmeter, it is strongly recommended to install a bypass pipe. This becomes crucial for systems dealing with heavily contaminated fluids, enabling cleaning and maintenance without interrupting fluid flow. a. Facilitates easy maintenance of the flowmeter. b. Essential for handling heavily contaminated fluids. c. Allows for uninterrupted fluid flow during cleaning operations.

3. Installation Requirements for Insertion-Type Electromagnetic Flowmeters

3.1. Requirements for Straight Pipe Sections To achieve optimal performance, the insertion-type electromagnetic flowmeter requires specific straight pipe sections: the inlet should extend ≥ 10×DN and the outlet should extend ≥ 5×DN.

3.2. Grounding Point Requirements For unparalleled accuracy and reliable operation, the flowmeter must be properly grounded to avoid external parasitic potentials. The sensor should be grounded with a resistance of less than 10 ohms. (If the metal pipeline is already well-grounded, a dedicated grounding device is not necessary.)

3.3. Installation Position Requirements Refer to the accompanying diagram for precise installation positioning.
