Flowmeters without a ball valve should be installed on a non-pressurized pipeline, allowing for easy selection and installation of flowmeters without a ball valve.
A precise hole with a diameter of 50mm should be created in the pipeline. Then, prepare to weld a connecting pipe to this opening, ensuring a secure and reliable connection.
For scenarios requiring uninterrupted flow during loading and unloading, or where media spillage is not acceptable, a ball valve is essential. This necessitates the use of an insertion-type electromagnetic flowmeter equipped with a ball valve structure for optimal performance.

To ensure the accurate operation of the electromagnetic flowmeter, the straight pipe sections must be 5D upstream and 3D downstream. This specification guarantees optimal performance and measurement accuracy.
The measurement principle of the electromagnetic flowmeter is independent of the flow characteristics, ensuring consistent and reliable measurements regardless of flow behavior.
Even if turbulence and vortices are generated in the non-measurement area of the pipeline (such as elbows, tangential throttling, or partially open shut-off valves upstream), they will not affect the measurement accuracy.
However, steady-state vortices within the measurement area can impact both stability and accuracy. Therefore, it is critical to manage these factors carefully.
In such cases, take measures to stabilize the flow distribution:
1.2. Pipeline-type Electromagnetic Flowmeter
2.1. Requirements for Straight Sections To minimize the effects of vortices and flow field distortion, adhere to specific requirements for the lengths of the straight pipe sections upstream and downstream of the flowmeter. Otherwise, measurement accuracy will be compromised. Consider installing a straightener and avoid proximity to control valves and partially open valves.
2.2. Requirements for Process Pipes The flowmeter has specific requirements for the upstream and downstream process pipes at the installation point to ensure measurement accuracy. a. The inner diameter of the upstream and downstream process pipes must match the sensor's inner diameter, meeting the condition: 0.98DN ≤ D ≤ 1.05DN (DN = inner diameter of the sensor, D = inner diameter of the process pipe). b. The process pipe and sensor must be concentric, with an axial deviation not exceeding 0.05DN to maintain precision.
2.3. Requirements for bypass pipes To optimize the maintenance operations of the flowmeter, the installation of a bypass pipe is highly recommended. This setup is particularly essential for managing heavily contaminated fluids and allows for the cleaning of the flowmeter without interrupting the fluid flow. a. Essential for seamless maintenance of the flowmeter. b. Mandatory for handling heavily contaminated fluids. c. Enables cleaning of the flowmeter without fluid interruption.
3. Installation requirements for insertion-type electromagnetic flowmeters
3.1. Requirements for straight pipe sections Inlet/outlet straight pipe sections: To ensure accurate flow measurements, the inlet should be ≥ 10×DN and the outlet should be ≥ 5×DN.
3.2. Requirements for grounding points To secure the reliable operation of the instrument and enhance measurement precision, the sensor must be well-grounded to avoid interference from external parasitic potentials. The grounding resistance should be less than 10 ohms. (Note: If the metal pipeline is already well-grounded, a dedicated grounding device is not necessary.)
3.3. Requirements for installation position as shown in the diagram.
