The ZYDC electromagnetic flow meter consists of two parts: a sensor and a converter. It operates based on Faraday's electromagnetic induction law and is used to measure conductive fluids. The ZYDC electromagnetic flow meter is a high-precision and highly reliable product that has been continuously upgraded and improved. This flow meter has achieved a leading level in the country in terms of excitation technology, lining technology, and intelligent technology, and complies with relevant standards such as JB/T9248-2015 and JJG 1033-2007.

Installation Instructions
 

The installation of the electromagnetic flowmeter varies depending on the site pipeline conditions. Flowmeters without a ball valve should be installed on a non-pressurized pipeline. This allows for the selection of flowmeters without a ball valve, ensuring ease of installation in low-pressure environments.
A hole with a diameter of 50mm should be made in the pipeline, and preparations should be made to weld a connecting pipe to the opening. This ensures a secure and leak-proof connection.
For applications requiring continuous flow during loading and unloading or where media overflow is not permitted, a ball valve must be added. This necessitates selecting an insertion-type electromagnetic flowmeter with a ball valve structure for optimal performance and safety.
A hole with a diameter of 50mm should be made in the pipeline, with preparations made to weld a connecting pipe to the opening. This step is crucial for establishing a reliable and efficient connection.

The requirements for straight pipe sections are 5D upstream and 3D downstream. This ensures the proper use of the electromagnetic flowmeter, maintaining accuracy and reliability in measurements.

The measurement principle of the electromagnetic flowmeter does not depend on the characteristics of the flow, making it versatile and applicable in various scenarios.
If there is turbulence and vortices generated in the non-measurement area of the pipeline (such as elbows, tangential throttling, or a partially open shut-off valve upstream), it will not affect the measurement. This resilience is key for maintaining measurement integrity.

However, if there are steady-state vortices in the measurement area, it will affect the stability and accuracy of the measurement. Addressing this is essential for maintaining high measurement standards.
In such cases, measures should be taken to stabilize the flow distribution:

  1. Increase the length of the straight pipe sections upstream and downstream to mitigate flow disturbances.
  2. Use a flow stabilizer to ensure a laminar flow profile.
  3. Reduce the cross-section of the measurement point to stabilize flow.
  1. Requirements for the external environment
    1. The flowmeter should avoid installation in areas with significant temperature fluctuations or where it is subjected to high-temperature radiation from equipment. If installation is necessary, insulation and ventilation measures must be taken to protect the device.
    2. The flowmeter is best installed indoors. If outdoor installation is unavoidable, it should be protected from rain, flooding, and direct sunlight, with appropriate moisture-proof and sun-proof measures implemented.
    3. The flowmeter should avoid environments containing corrosive gases. If such installation is necessary, proper ventilation measures must be implemented to ensure longevity and performance.
    4. To facilitate installation, maintenance, and upkeep, ample installation space around the flowmeter is essential. This allows for ease of access and operational efficiency.
    5. The installation site of the flowmeter should avoid magnetic fields and strong vibration sources. If significant vibration in the pipeline exists, supports should be provided on both sides of the flowmeter to stabilize the pipeline and ensure accurate readings.

1.2. Pipeline-type electromagnetic flowmeter

2.1. Requirements for straight sections To mitigate the effects of vortices and flow field distortion, specific requirements for the lengths of the straight pipe sections upstream and downstream of the flowmeter must be met; otherwise, measurement accuracy will be compromised. Installing a straightener and avoiding installation close to control valves and partially open valves are advisable.

2.2. Requirements for the process pipes The flowmeter has specific requirements for the upstream and downstream process pipes at the installation point. The inner diameter of the process pipes should match that of the sensor, meeting the condition: 0.98DN ≤ D ≤ 1.05DN, ensuring compatibility and accuracy. The process pipe and the sensor must be concentric, with an axial deviation not exceeding 0.05DN to maintain measurement precision.

2.3. Requirements for Bypass Pipes To ensure seamless maintenance of the flowmeter, it is highly recommended to install a bypass pipe. For applications involving heavily contaminated fluids, or scenarios where the fluid flow cannot be halted for cleaning, the installation of a bypass pipe becomes imperative. a. Facilitates easy maintenance of the flowmeter. b. Essential for handling heavily contaminated fluids. c. Enables cleaning of the flowmeter without interrupting the fluid flow.

3. Installation Requirements for Insertion-Type Electromagnetic Flowmeters

3.1. Requirements for Straight Pipe Sections Inlet/Outlet Straight Pipe Sections: To guarantee optimal performance, the inlet should have a straight pipe section of ≥ 10×DN, while the outlet should be ≥ 5×DN.

3.2. Requirements for Grounding Points To secure reliable operation and enhance measurement precision, it is crucial that the instrument remains unaffected by external parasitic potentials. The sensor must be properly grounded, with grounding resistance less than 10 ohms. (If the metal pipeline is already well-grounded, there is no need for a dedicated grounding device.)

3.3. Requirements for Installation Position Refer to the provided diagram for detailed installation positioning.
