Installation Requirements

Piping Condition
The installation of the vortex flowmeter necessitates a certain length of straight pipe both upstream and downstream. Here are the typical scenarios (D represents the diameter of the pipe):

Install the sensor on a pipe that is horizontal, vertical, or inclined (with liquid flowing from bottom to top) and matches the sensor's diameter. Ensure there is a sufficient straight pipe length: 15-20D upstream and 5-10D downstream.
2.
The pipe near the liquid sensor should be filled with the liquid being measured.
3.
Avoid installing the sensor on a pipe experiencing strong mechanical vibrations.
4.
The inner diameter of the straight pipe section should closely match the sensor's diameter. If not, use a slightly larger diameter with an error margin of ≤3% and not exceeding 5mm. Avoid locations with strong electromagnetic interference, limited space, or inconvenient maintenance..
5.
Horizontal pipeline installation is the most common for flow sensors. For gas flow with minor liquid content, install the sensor at the highest pipeline point. For liquid flow with minor gas content, install the sensor at the lowest pipeline point.
6.
Vertical pipeline installation for gas flow can be unrestricted in direction. For gas with minor liquid content, ensure the flow is from bottom to top. For liquid flow, positioning should be bottom to top to avoid undue weight on the probe.
7.
Side installation on horizontal pipelines is viable for all fluids, including superheated steam, saturated steam, and low-temperature liquids. Side mounting is preferred to minimize temperature impacts on the amplifier.
8.
Inverted installation on horizontal pipelines is generally discouraged. While unsuitable for general gases or superheated steam, it can measure saturated steam and high-temperature liquids, especially in conditions requiring frequent pipeline cleaning.
9.
For pipelines with insulation layers measuring high-temperature steam, ensure the insulation does not exceed one-third of the bracket height.
10.
Select pressure and temperature measurement points wisely: 3-5D downstream for pressure and 6-8D downstream for temperature, based on measurement needs.
