Operates based on Faraday's electromagnetic induction law, it is designed to precisely measure conductive fluids with unparalleled accuracy and reliability. This advanced flow meter has consistently been enhanced to achieve a top-tier status nationally in technology and intelligence. Our product complies rigorously with standards like JB/T9248-2015 and JJG 1033-2007.

Installation Instructions
 

The installation of the electromagnetic flowmeter can vary significantly based on the specific conditions of the pipeline site. For installations without a ball valve, ensure that the pipeline is non-pressurized. Non-pressurized conditions permit the use of flowmeters without a ball valve.
Begin by creating a hole with a 50mm diameter in the pipeline. Then, prepare to weld a connecting pipe to this opening.
For scenarios requiring continuous flow during loading and unloading, or where media overflow must be avoided, it is essential to incorporate a ball valve. This necessitates selecting an insertion-type electromagnetic flowmeter featuring a ball valve structure.
Similar to previous instructions, create a 50mm diameter hole in the pipeline and prepare to weld a connecting pipe to the opening.

Ensure the piping setup includes 5D upstream and 3D downstream straight pipe sections. This configuration is critical for the correct operation of the electromagnetic flowmeter, meeting all accuracy requirements.

The measurement principle of the electromagnetic flowmeter remains unaffected by the flow characteristics.
Even if turbulence and vortices occur outside the measurement area (due to elbows, tangential throttling, or partially open shut-off valves upstream), measurement accuracy stays intact.

However, steady-state vortices within the measurement area can compromise measurement stability and accuracy.
In such cases, employ measures to stabilize the flow distribution:

  1. Extend the length of upstream and downstream straight pipe sections.
  2. Utilize a flow stabilizer.
  3. Reduce the cross-section at the measurement point.
  1. Requirements for the External Environment
    1. Avoid installing the flowmeter in areas with substantial temperature fluctuations or high-temperature radiation. If unavoidable, ensure insulation and proper ventilation.
    2. Indoor installation is preferable. Outdoor installations should be protected against rain, flooding, direct sunlight, and incorporate moisture-proof and sun-proof measures.
    3. Avoid environments with corrosive gases. If installation in such areas is necessary, implement adequate ventilation measures.
    4. Ensure ample space around the flowmeter to facilitate installation, maintenance, and upkeep.
    5. The installation site should be free from magnetic fields and strong vibrations. If the pipeline experiences significant vibration, support it on both sides of the flowmeter to stabilize.

1.2. Pipeline-type Electromagnetic Flowmeter

2.1. Requirements for Straight Sections To minimize the effects of vortices and flow field distortion, observe specific length requirements for upstream and downstream straight pipe sections. These sections are critical for accurate measurement (consider installing a straightener and avoid proximity to control and partially open valves).

2.2. Requirements for Process Pipes The flowmeter has stringent requirements for upstream and downstream process pipes at the installation point to ensure measurement accuracy. a. The inner diameters of these pipes must match the sensor's, meeting this condition: 0.98DN ≤ D ≤ 1.05DN (where DN is the sensor's inner diameter, and D is the process pipe's inner diameter). b. Ensure the process pipe and sensor are concentric, with an axial deviation not exceeding 0.05DN.

2.3. Requirements for Bypass Pipes To ensure seamless maintenance of the flowmeter, it is highly recommended to install a bypass pipe. This is particularly essential in scenarios involving heavily contaminated fluids or when cleaning the flowmeter without halting the fluid flow. Here are the key points: a. Facilitates easy maintenance of the flowmeter. b. Crucial for heavily contaminated fluids. c. Enables cleaning of the flowmeter without interrupting fluid flow.

3. Installation Requirements for Insertion-Type Electromagnetic Flowmeters

3.1. Requirements for Straight Pipe Sections To ensure optimal performance, the straight pipe sections at the inlet and outlet must adhere to the following guidelines: Inlet: Should be ≥ 10×DN Outlet: Should be ≥ 5×DN

3.2. Requirements for Grounding Points To guarantee the reliable operation of the instrument and enhance measurement accuracy, external parasitic potentials should not influence the system. The sensor must be well-grounded, maintaining a grounding resistance of less than 10 ohms. (If the metal pipeline is already grounded effectively, a dedicated grounding device is not necessary.)

3.3. Requirements for Installation Position Please refer to the accompanying diagram for precise installation positions.
