Piping condition
The installation of vortex flowmeters necessitates specific lengths of straight pipe both upstream and downstream. Typical scenarios include: (D represents the pipe diameter):
1.
Position the sensor on a horizontal, vertical, or inclined pipe (with liquid flowing upwards) that matches the sensor's diameter. Ensure straight pipe lengths of 15-20D upstream and 5-10D downstream to maintain accuracy.
2.
The pipe adjacent to the liquid sensor must be completely filled with the measuring liquid.
3.
Do not install the sensor on pipes subject to significant mechanical vibrations.
4.
The internal diameter of straight pipe sections should closely match the sensor's diameter. If this isn't possible, use a slightly larger diameter pipe with a deviation of ≤3% and not exceeding 5mm. Avoid areas with strong electromagnetic interference, restricted space, or where maintenance is difficult..
5.
Horizontal pipeline installation is common for flow sensors. When measuring gas with minor liquid content, place the sensor at the pipeline's highest point. For liquids with minor gas content, install the sensor at the lowest point.
6.
Installation in vertical pipelines. For gas flow, place the sensor on vertical pipes without directional restrictions. If gas has minor liquid content, ensure upward flow. For liquids, ensure upward flow to reduce probe loading.
7.
Side mounting on horizontal pipelines. Suitable for all fluids, particularly superheated steam, saturated steam, and low-temperature liquids. Side mounting is ideal for minimizing temperature effects on the amplifier.
8.
Inverted installation on horizontal pipelines is generally inadvisable, except for saturated steam or high-temp liquids requiring frequent cleaning.
9.
For high-temperature steam pipelines with insulation, ensure the insulation layer doesn't exceed one-third of the bracket height.
10.
Selecting pressure and temperature measurement points. For accurate readings, place the pressure measurement point 3-5D downstream and the temperature measurement point 6-8D downstream of the sensor.
