Installation Requirements

Piping condition
The installation of the Vortex Flowmeter requires specific straight pipe sections before and after the meter. The common configurations are as follows (D represents the pipe diameter):

The sensor must be installed on a horizontal, vertical, or inclined pipe (with liquid flowing from bottom to top) matching the sensor diameter. Ensure a straight pipe section of 15-20D upstream and 5-10D downstream of the sensor.
2.
The pipe near the sensor must be fully filled with the liquid being measured.
3.
Avoid installing the sensor on pipes that experience strong mechanical vibrations.
4.
Maintain a consistent inner diameter for the straight pipe section and the sensor. If matching is impossible, use a slightly larger diameter pipe with a deviation ≤3% and not over 5mm. Avoid locations with strong electromagnetic interference, limited space, or difficult maintenance..
5.
Horizontal pipeline installation is common for flow sensors. For gas flow measurement containing minor liquid, install the sensor at a higher point in the pipeline. For liquid flow containing minor gas, install the sensor at a lower point.
6.
For vertical pipeline installation, the sensor can be placed without flow direction restriction when measuring gas flow. If the gas contains liquid, the flow should be upward. For liquid flow, ensure upward movement to avoid extra weight on the probe.
7.
Side installation on horizontal pipelines is feasible for all fluids, particularly superheated steam, saturated steam, and low-temperature liquids. Side mounting is preferable when possible as it reduces temperature impact on the amplifier.
8.
Inverted installation on horizontal pipelines is generally not recommended. It is unsuitable for general gases or superheated steam but can be used for saturated steam and high-temperature liquids, especially when frequent pipeline cleaning is required.
9.
For pipelines with insulation layers, when measuring high-temperature steam, ensure the insulation does not exceed one-third of the bracket height.
10.
Selection of pressure and temperature measurement points: Position the pressure point 3-5D downstream of the sensor and the temperature point 6-8D downstream, as per measurement requirements.
