Detailed Installation Requirements

Optimal Piping Conditions
For optimal performance, the installation of the vortex flowmeter necessitates specific straight pipe sections both upstream and downstream. The typical configurations are as follows (D represents the pipe diameter):

Install the sensor on a pipe that is horizontal, vertical, or inclined (with the liquid flowing from bottom to top). The pipe must match the sensor's diameter and have sufficient straight sections before and after the sensor: 15-20D upstream and 5-10D downstream.
2.
Ensure the pipe near the liquid sensor is completely filled with the liquid to be measured.
3.
Avoid installing the sensor on pipes experiencing significant mechanical vibrations.
4.
The inner diameter of the straight pipe section should closely match the sensor diameter. If exact matching is not possible, use a slightly larger diameter pipe, with an error of ≤3% and not exceeding 5mm. Avoid installing the sensor in areas with strong electromagnetic interference, restricted space, or challenging maintenance conditions..
5.
Horizontal pipeline installation is the most common method for flow sensors. For gas flow containing minor liquid, install the sensor at a higher pipeline point. For liquid flow with minor gas, install it at a lower point.
6.
For vertical pipeline installations, the sensor can be installed without flow direction restrictions for gas flow. If measuring gas with minor liquid, ensure the flow is from bottom to top. For liquid flow, ensure it moves from bottom to top to reduce probe weight stress.
7.
Side-mounting sensors on horizontal pipelines is suitable for most fluids, especially superheated steam, saturated steam, and low-temperature liquids. This method minimizes temperature impact on the amplifier and is preferred when conditions permit.
8.
Inverted sensor installation on horizontal pipelines is generally not recommended. It is unsuitable for measuring general gases or superheated steam but can be used for saturated steam and high-temperature liquids or when pipelines need frequent cleaning.
9.
When measuring high-temperature steam with insulated pipelines, ensure the insulation layer does not exceed one-third of the bracket height.
10.
Selecting pressure and temperature measurement points: To achieve accurate measurements, the pressure measurement point should be 3-5D downstream of the sensor, while the temperature measurement point should be 6-8D downstream.
