The installation of the electromagnetic flowmeter from Shandong Zhongziyi Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. is tailored to your specific pipeline conditions. For pipelines that are not pressurized, you have the flexibility to select flowmeters without a ball valve.
Create a hole with a diameter of 50mm in the pipeline and prepare to weld a connecting pipe to this opening, ensuring a secure and precise installation.
For applications requiring continuous flow during loading and unloading, or where media overflow is not permissible, an insertion-type electromagnetic flowmeter with a ball valve structure is essential.
Similarly, a 50mm diameter hole should be made in the pipeline, accompanied by the welding of a connecting pipe to the opening.

To maintain the highest accuracy of the electromagnetic flowmeter, ensure straight pipe sections of 5D upstream and 3D downstream.

The electromagnetic flowmeter's measurement principle is independent of flow characteristics, ensuring consistent and reliable readings.
Even in the presence of turbulence and vortices in non-measurement areas of the pipeline, such as near elbows or partially open valves, measurement accuracy remains unaffected.

However, steady-state vortices within the measurement area can compromise stability and accuracy, necessitating corrective measures.
In such cases, to ensure stabilized flow distribution, consider the following actions:

  1. Increase the lengths of the straight pipe sections both upstream and downstream.
  2. Implement the use of a flow stabilizer to maintain consistent flow.
  3. Reduce the cross-section at the measurement point for enhanced accuracy.
  1. Requirements for the external environment
    1. Avoid installing the flowmeter in areas with significant temperature fluctuations or exposure to high-temperature radiation. If necessary, ensure proper insulation and ventilation.
    2. While indoor installation is preferable, outdoor installation requires protective measures against rain, flooding, and direct sunlight, along with moisture-proof and sun-proof safeguards.
    3. If the environment contains corrosive gases, ensure adequate ventilation to protect the flowmeter.
    4. Ensure ample space around the flowmeter to facilitate installation, maintenance, and upkeep efficiently.
    5. Select an installation site free from magnetic fields and strong vibration sources. If the pipeline vibrates significantly, provide support on both sides of the flowmeter to stabilize it.

1.2. Pipeline-type electromagnetic flowmeter

2.1. Requirements for straight sections To ensure optimal performance, adhere to specific lengths for the straight pipe sections upstream and downstream of the flowmeter. Installing a straightener and avoiding proximity to control valves and partially open valves is advisable.

2.2. Requirements for the process pipes The flowmeter's accuracy depends on the upstream and downstream process pipes matching the sensor's inner diameter, within the range: 0.98DN ≤ D ≤ 1.05DN. Ensure the process pipe and sensor are concentric, with an axial deviation not exceeding 0.05DN.

2.3. Requirements for bypass pipes For seamless maintenance of the flowmeter, it is highly recommended to install a bypass pipe. In scenarios involving heavily contaminated fluids or when the flowmeter requires cleaning without interrupting fluid flow, the installation of a bypass pipe becomes imperative. a. For streamlined maintenance of the flowmeter. b. Mandatory for managing heavily contaminated fluids. c. Ensures uninterrupted fluid flow during flowmeter cleaning.

3. Installation requirements for insertion-type electromagnetic flowmeters

3.1. Requirements for straight pipe sections Inlet/outlet straight pipe sections: The inlet should be at least ≥ 10×DN; The outlet should be at least ≥ 5×DN.

3.2. Requirements for grounding points To guarantee reliable operation and enhance measurement accuracy, the instrument must be shielded from external parasitic potentials. Ensure the sensor is well-grounded with a grounding resistance of less than 10. (If the metal pipeline has adequate grounding, a dedicated grounding device is not necessary.)
