The ZYDC electromagnetic flow meter by Shandong Zhongziyi Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. is a two-part system composed of a sensor and a converter. Utilizing Faraday's electromagnetic induction law, it precisely measures conductive fluids. Renowned for its high precision and reliability, the ZYDC flow meter has undergone continuous enhancements to achieve national leadership in excitation, lining, and intelligent technologies. Complying with JB/T9248-2015 and JJG 1033-2007 standards, this device sets the benchmark in the industry.

Installation Instructions
 

The installation of the electromagnetic flowmeter varies depending on the site pipeline conditions. If the flowmeter lacks a ball valve, it should be installed on a non-pressurized pipeline, allowing for the selection of flowmeters without a ball valve.
A pipeline hole with a diameter of 50mm should be created, and preparations for welding a connecting pipe to the pipeline opening must be made.
For continuous flow during loading/unloading or where media overflow is not permitted, a ball valve must be added. Select an insertion-type electromagnetic flowmeter with a ball valve structure in such cases.

Straight pipe sections must be 5D upstream and 3D downstream to ensure proper flowmeter use and meet accuracy requirements.

The measurement principle of the electromagnetic flowmeter is independent of flow characteristics.
Turbulence and vortices generated in the non-measurement area (e.g., elbows, tangential throttling, or a partially open shut-off valve upstream) will not affect the measurement.

However, steady-state vortices in the measurement area will affect measurement stability and accuracy.
To stabilize flow distribution, consider the following measures:

  1. Increase the length of the straight pipe sections upstream and downstream.
  2. Use a flow stabilizer.
  3. Reduce the cross-section of the measurement point.
  1. Requirements for the External Environment
    1. Avoid installing the flowmeter in areas with significant temperature fluctuations or high-temperature radiation from equipment. If unavoidable, implement insulation and ventilation measures.
    2. Ideally, install the flowmeter indoors. If outdoor installation is necessary, protect it from rain, flooding, and direct sunlight with moisture-proof and sun-proof measures.
    3. Avoid installing the flowmeter in corrosive gas environments. If necessary, ensure proper ventilation.
    4. Ensure ample installation space around the flowmeter to facilitate installation, maintenance, and upkeep.
    5. Avoid installing the flowmeter near magnetic fields and strong vibration sources. If the pipeline experiences significant vibration, provide supports on both sides to stabilize it.

1.2. Pipeline-type Electromagnetic Flowmeter

2.1. Requirements for Straight Sections To mitigate the effects of vortices and flow field distortion, specific lengths for the straight pipe sections upstream and downstream of the flowmeter are required. Otherwise, measurement accuracy will suffer. A straightener can be installed, and it's advisable to avoid installing the flowmeter close to control or partially open valves.

2.2. Requirements for Process Pipes The flowmeter has specific requirements for upstream and downstream process pipes at the installation point. Otherwise, measurement accuracy will be affected. a. The inner diameter of the upstream and downstream process pipes should match the sensor's inner diameter, meeting the condition: 0.98DN ≤ D ≤ 1.05DN (where DN is the sensor's inner diameter, and D is the process pipe's inner diameter). b. The process pipe and sensor must be concentric, with an axial deviation not exceeding 0.05DN.

2.3. Requirements for Bypass Pipes To ensure seamless maintenance of the flowmeter, the installation of a bypass pipe is highly recommended. This is especially crucial for handling heavily contaminated fluids and instances where cleaning the flowmeter without halting fluid flow is necessary. a. Essential for facilitating the maintenance of the flowmeter. b. Indispensable for managing heavily contaminated fluids. c. Enables cleaning without interrupting the fluid flow.

3. Installation Requirements for Insertion-Type Electromagnetic Flowmeters

3.1. Requirements for Straight Pipe Sections Inlet/Outlet Straight Pipe Sections: Ensure the inlet section is ≥ 10×DN and the outlet section is ≥ 5×DN for optimal performance.

3.2. Requirements for Grounding Points To guarantee reliable instrument operation and enhance measurement accuracy, the sensor must be well-grounded to prevent external parasitic potentials. Grounding resistance should be below 10. (If the metal pipeline is adequately grounded, a dedicated grounding device is unnecessary.)

3.3. Requirements for Installation Position Refer to the accompanying diagram for precise installation positioning.
