Installation Instructions
 

The installation of the High Accuracy Electromagnetic Flowmeter with Wireless and Easy Mounting from Shandong Zhongziyi Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. depends on the specific conditions of the pipeline on site. For pipelines that are non-pressurized, flowmeters without a ball valve can be installed. This non-pressurized installation allows for the selection of flowmeters without a ball valve.
Begin by creating a hole with a diameter of 50 in the pipeline and prepare to weld a connecting pipe to this opening.
In scenarios where continuous flow during loading and unloading is required, or where media overflow is strictly prohibited, it is necessary to add a ball valve. This necessitates selecting an insertion-type electromagnetic flowmeter with a ball valve structure.
As before, create a hole with a 50-diameter in the pipeline and prepare to weld a connecting pipe at the opening.

The installation requires straight pipe sections measuring 5D upstream and 3D downstream. This ensures the proper functioning of the electromagnetic flowmeter and meets the stringent accuracy requirements.

The measurement principle of our electromagnetic flowmeter remains consistent regardless of the flow characteristics.
If turbulence and vortices are present in the non-measurement areas of the pipeline, such as elbows, tangential throttles, or partially open valves upstream, the measurement process remains unaffected.

However, the presence of steady-state vortices within the measurement area will impact both stability and accuracy.
Consequently, measures should be taken to stabilize the flow distribution:

  1. Extend the length of the straight pipe sections both upstream and downstream.
  2. Utilize a flow stabilizer.
  3. Reduce the cross-section at the measurement point.
  1. Requirements for the External Environment
    1. The flowmeter should be kept away from areas with significant temperature fluctuations or high-temperature radiation from equipment. If installation in such areas is unavoidable, appropriate insulation and ventilation measures must be implemented.
    2. For optimal performance, the flowmeter should be installed indoors. If outdoor installation is necessary, it must be protected from rain, flooding, and direct sunlight. Ensure moisture-proof and sun-proof measures are in place.
    3. Avoid installing the flowmeter in environments with corrosive gases. If installation in such environments is unavoidable, proper ventilation measures must be taken.
    4. Ensure ample installation space around the flowmeter to facilitate easy installation, maintenance, and upkeep.
    5. The installation site should be free from magnetic fields and strong vibration sources. If significant vibration is present in the pipeline, support structures should be provided on both sides of the flowmeter to stabilize the pipeline.

1.2. Pipeline-type Electromagnetic Flowmeter

2.1. Requirements for Straight Sections To mitigate the effects of vortices and flow field distortions, specific requirements must be met for the lengths of the straight pipe sections upstream and downstream of the flowmeter. Ignoring these requirements can compromise measurement accuracy. Alternatively, a straightener can be installed, and it is advisable to avoid installation near control valves and partially open valves.

2.2. Requirements for Process Pipes The flowmeter has specific requirements for the upstream and downstream process pipes at the installation point. Failure to meet these requirements can affect measurement accuracy. a. The inner diameter of the upstream and downstream process pipes should match that of the sensor, meeting the condition: 0.98DN ≤ D ≤ 1.05DN (where DN is the sensor's inner diameter, and D is the process pipe's inner diameter). b. The process pipe and sensor must be concentric, with an axial deviation not exceeding 0.05DN.

2.3. Requirements for Bypass Pipes To ensure seamless maintenance of the flowmeter, installing a bypass pipe is highly recommended. In scenarios involving heavily contaminated fluids or when the flowmeter requires cleaning without interrupting the fluid flow, a bypass pipe installation becomes imperative. a. Facilitates easy maintenance of the flowmeter. b. Essential for handling heavily contaminated fluids. c. Enables cleaning of the flowmeter without halting fluid flow.

3. Installation Requirements for Insertion-Type Electromagnetic Flowmeters

3.1. Requirements for Straight Pipe Sections For optimal performance, ensure the following straight pipe sections: Inlet straight pipe section should be at least ≥ 10×DN, while the outlet straight pipe section should be at least ≥ 5×DN.

3.2. Requirements for Grounding Points To guarantee the instrument's reliable operation and enhance measurement precision, it is crucial to mitigate the impact of external parasitic potentials. The flowmeter's sensor must be excellently grounded, achieving a grounding resistance of less than 10. (Note: If the metal pipeline is already well-grounded, a dedicated grounding device may not be necessary.)

3.3. Requirements for Installation Position Refer to the accompanying diagram for precise installation positioning.
