Installation Requirements

Piping condition
The installation of the vortex flowmeter mandates a specific length of straight pipe section both upstream and downstream, with common configurations detailed as follows (D represents the diameter of the pipe):

The sensor must be affixed to a horizontal, vertical, or inclined pipe (with liquid flowing bottom to top) matching the sensor's diameter. Ensure a straight pipe length of 15-20D upstream and 5-10D downstream of the sensor for optimal performance.
2.
The pipe adjacent to the liquid sensor must be fully occupied by the measured liquid.
3.
Avoid installing the sensor on pipes subjected to strong mechanical vibrations.
4.
Maintain consistent inner diameters of the straight pipe section and sensor. If variations occur, opt for a slightly larger pipe with an error margin of ≤3% and not exceeding 5mm. Prevent installation in areas with strong electromagnetic interference, restricted space, or challenging maintenance conditions..
5.
Horizontal pipeline installation is prevalent for flow sensors. When gauging gas flow containing minimal liquid, position the sensor at a higher elevation in the pipeline. Conversely, for liquid flow containing minimal gas, situate the sensor at a lower point.
6.
For vertical pipeline sensor installation: with gas flow, position the sensor on a vertical pipe regardless of flow direction. If the gas has minimal liquid, ensure the flow ascends. For liquid flow, ensure upward flow to mitigate probe weight increase.
7.
Side mounting of sensors on horizontal pipelines is feasible for any fluid measurement, notably superheated steam, saturated steam, and low-temperature liquids. Side mounting is preferred to reduce amplifier temperature impacts.
8.
Inverted sensor installation on horizontal pipelines is seldom recommended. It's unsuitable for general gases or superheated steam but can measure saturated steam and high-temperature liquids, especially when frequent pipeline cleaning is necessary.
9.
When measuring high-temperature steam, ensure the insulation layer's height does not surpass one-third of the bracket height.
10.
Pressure and temperature measurement points should be strategically placed. The pressure point must be 3-5D downstream, and the temperature point 6-8D downstream of the sensor, aligning with measurement demands.
