Piping Condition
To ensure optimal performance of the Gas Vortex Flowmeter with Low Pressure Loss and High Accuracy, specific installation criteria regarding straight pipe sections must be adhered to. Here are the standard scenarios (D represents the pipe's diameter):
Piping condition | upstream | Downstream |
Concentric shrinkage pipe full open gate valve |
15D | 5D |
∠90° square elbow | 20D | 5D |
Same plane 2∠90°elbow | 25D | 5D |
Semi-open gate valve regulating valve | 50D | 5D |
Different plane 2∠90°elbow | 40D | 5D |
With rectifier tube bundle | 12D | 5D |
1.
The sensor should be mounted on horizontal, vertical, or inclined pipes (with fluid flowing bottom to top) that match the sensor's diameter. Ensure there are straight pipe sections both upstream and downstream: 15-20D for the front and 5-10D for the rear.
2.
The pipeline near the liquid sensor must be completely filled with the liquid being measured.
3.
Avoid installing the sensor on pipes subject to strong mechanical vibrations.
4.
The inner diameter of straight pipe sections should closely match the sensor diameter. If not, use a slightly larger diameter pipe with a tolerance of ≤3% and no more than 5mm. Avoid installations in areas with strong electromagnetic interference, cramped spaces, or places difficult to maintain..
5.
Horizontal pipeline installation is prevalent for flow sensors. For gas flow measurements with minimal liquid, place the sensor at a higher point. Conversely, for liquid flow with minimal gas, position the sensor at a lower point in the pipeline.
6.
For vertical pipeline installations: When measuring gas, install the sensor vertically with no flow direction constraint. If gas contains some liquid, ensure the flow is from bottom to top. For liquid flow, it should also move from bottom to top to prevent additional load on the probe.
7.
Side mounting of sensors on horizontal pipelines is viable for various fluids, including superheated steam, saturated steam, and low-temperature liquids. Side installation is preferred, if possible, to reduce temperature impacts on the amplifier.
8.
Inverted sensor installation on horizontal pipes is generally discouraged. It's unsuitable for general gases or superheated steam but can measure saturated steam and high-temperature liquids or in situations requiring frequent pipeline cleaning.
9.
For pipelines with insulation layers: When measuring high-temperature steam, ensure the insulation layer does not exceed one-third of the bracket height.
10.
Choosing pressure and temperature measurement points: Based on measurement needs, place the pressure point 3-5D downstream of the sensor and the temperature point 6-8D downstream.
