The installation of the High Accuracy Electromagnetic Flowmeter varies according to the specific pipeline conditions at the site. For flowmeters without a ball valve, installation should be performed on a non-pressurized pipeline. This method allows for the selection of flowmeters without the need for a ball valve.
Create a hole with a diameter of 50 mm in the pipeline and prepare to weld a connecting pipe to this opening in the pipeline.
In scenarios requiring continuous flow during loading and unloading, or where media overflow is unacceptable, it is essential to incorporate a ball valve. This necessitates the selection of an insertion-type electromagnetic flowmeter equipped with a ball valve structure.
Create a hole with a diameter of 50 mm in the pipeline and prepare to weld a connecting pipe to this opening in the pipeline.

The straight pipe sections required are 5D upstream and 3D downstream. This ensures the proper operation of the electromagnetic flowmeter and adherence to accuracy standards.

The measurement principle of the electromagnetic flowmeter is independent of the flow characteristics.
If turbulence and vortices are generated in the non-measurement area of the pipeline (such as elbows, tangential throttling, or a partially open shut-off valve upstream), they will not affect the measurement.

However, if steady-state vortices are present in the measurement area, both the stability and accuracy of the measurements will be compromised.
In such cases, measures should be adopted to stabilize the flow distribution:

  1. Increase the length of the straight pipe sections upstream and downstream.
  2. Use a flow stabilizer.
  3. Reduce the cross-section of the measurement point.
  1. Requirements for the External Environment
    1. The flowmeter should be installed in areas free from significant temperature fluctuations or high-temperature radiation. If installation in such areas is unavoidable, appropriate insulation and ventilation measures must be taken.
    2. Flowmeters are best installed indoors. If they must be installed outdoors, ensure protection from rain, flooding, and direct sunlight with suitable moisture-proof and sun-proof measures.
    3. Avoid installing the flowmeter in environments containing corrosive gases. If necessary, implement effective ventilation measures.
    4. To facilitate installation, maintenance, and upkeep, ample installation space must be provided around the flowmeter.
    5. The installation site should steer clear of magnetic fields and strong vibration sources. If significant vibration exists in the pipeline, support the pipeline on both sides of the flowmeter to stabilize it.

1.2. Pipeline-type Electromagnetic Flowmeter

2.1. Requirements for Straight Sections To mitigate the effects of vortices and flow field distortion, specific lengths for the straight pipe sections upstream and downstream of the flowmeter are required. Without them, measurement accuracy will be compromised. Installing a straightener is also advisable, and avoid installation close to control valves and partially open valves.

2.2. Requirements for the Process Pipes The flowmeter has specific requirements for the upstream and downstream process pipes at the installation point to maintain measurement accuracy. a. The inner diameter of the upstream and downstream process pipes must match the sensor's and meet the condition: 0.98DN ≤ D ≤ 1.05DN (where DN is the inner diameter of the sensor, and D is the inner diameter of the process pipe). b. The process pipe and the sensor must be concentric, with an axial deviation not exceeding 0.05DN.

2.3. Requirements for Bypass Pipes To ensure seamless maintenance and optimal performance of the flowmeter, installing a bypass pipe is highly recommended. This is particularly crucial for systems handling heavily contaminated fluids or where cleaning of the flowmeter must occur without halting the flow. a. Facilitates effortless maintenance of the flowmeter. b. Essential for systems with heavily contaminated fluids. c. Allows cleaning of the flowmeter without interrupting the fluid flow.

3. Installation Requirements for Insertion-type Electromagnetic Flowmeters

3.1. Requirements for Straight Pipe Sections To achieve accurate measurements, the following inlet and outlet straight pipe sections are necessary: Inlet must be ≥ 10×DN; Outlet must be ≥ 5×DN.

3.2. Requirements for Grounding Points To ensure the reliable operation of the instrument and enhance measurement precision, it is imperative that the sensor is not influenced by external parasitic potentials. The sensor must be well-grounded, with a grounding resistance of less than 10. (If the metal pipeline is already well-grounded, an additional grounding device is not required.)

3.3. Installation Position Requirements The installation position should be in strict accordance with the diagram provided.
