Installation Requirements

Piping condition
The installation of vortex flowmeter requires a certain straight pipe section before and after, and the common situations are as follows (D is the diameter of the pipe) :

The sensor should be installed on a horizontal, vertical, or inclined pipe (with the liquid flowing from bottom to top) of the same diameter as the sensor. Ensure a straight pipe section of 15-20D upstream and 5-10D downstream of the sensor.
2.
The pipe near the liquid sensor must be filled with the liquid being measured.
3.
Avoid installing the sensor on pipes experiencing strong mechanical vibrations.
4.
The inner diameter of the straight pipe should closely match the sensor diameter. If a match is impossible, use a slightly larger diameter pipe with an error margin ≤3% and not exceeding 5mm. Avoid installing in areas with electromagnetic interference, limited space, or difficult maintenance..
5.
Horizontal pipeline installation is optimal for flow sensors. For gas flow containing a small amount of liquid, install the sensor at the pipeline's higher point. For liquid flow containing a small amount of gas, install at the pipeline's lower point.
6.
In vertical pipelines, install the sensor without flow direction restrictions for gas flow. If the gas contains liquid, ensure flow from bottom to top. For liquid flow, ensure flow from bottom to top to prevent additional probe weight.
7.
For side installations on horizontal pipelines, sensors can measure superheated steam, saturated steam, and low-temperature liquids. Side mounting minimizes temperature impact on the amplifier and is preferred if conditions allow.
8.
Inverted horizontal pipeline installation is generally not advised. It's unsuitable for general gases or superheated steam but can measure saturated steam and high-temperature liquids, especially where frequent pipeline cleaning is needed.
9.
For high-temperature steam pipelines with insulation layers, ensure the insulation does not exceed one-third of the bracket height.
10.
Select pressure and temperature measurement points carefully. For pressure, position the point 3-5D downstream of the sensor. For temperature, position it 6-8D downstream.
