Installation Requirements

Piping condition
The installation of the Easy Install Vortex Flowmeter requires specific straight pipe sections before and after the device, ensuring accurate measurements. The common configurations are listed below (D represents the pipe diameter):

1.
Install the sensor on a pipe that can be horizontal, vertical, or inclined (with liquid flowing from bottom to top). The pipe must match the sensor diameter and include straight sections of 15-20D upstream and 5-10D downstream to ensure precision.
2.
Ensure the pipe near the liquid sensor is fully filled with the liquid being measured to maintain accuracy.
3.
Avoid installing the sensor on pipes that experience strong mechanical vibrations to prevent measurement errors.
4.
The inner diameter of the straight pipe section should closely match the sensor diameter. If not possible, use a slightly larger diameter with an error margin of ≤3% and not exceeding 5mm. Do not install in areas with strong electromagnetic interference, cramped spaces, or where maintenance is hard..
5.
Horizontal pipeline installation is the most common. For gas flow with minor liquid content, place the sensor at the highest point. For liquid flow with minor gas content, place it at the lowest point to ensure proper measurement.
6.
For vertical pipelines, if measuring gas flow, the sensor can be installed regardless of flow direction. If the gas contains liquid, flow must be from bottom to top. When measuring liquid flow, ensure it flows from bottom to top to avoid extra weight on the probe.
7.
For side installations on horizontal pipelines, sensors should be side-mounted regardless of the fluid type, particularly for superheated steam, saturated steam, and low-temperature liquids. This minimizes temperature effects on the amplifier.
8.
Inverted sensor installations on horizontal pipelines are generally not recommended, except for measuring saturated steam and high-temperature liquids or in cases where pipelines require frequent cleaning.
9.
For pipelines with insulation layers, especially for high-temperature steam, ensure the insulation does not exceed one-third of the bracket height to maintain accuracy.
10.
When pressure and temperature measurements are required near the sensor, position the pressure measurement point 3-5D downstream and the temperature measurement point 6-8D downstream of the sensor.
