Installation Requirements

Piping Condition
The installation of the vortex flowmeter requires a certain length of straight pipe both before and after the device. Here are the common scenarios (D represents the pipe diameter):

The sensor should be mounted on a pipe that is horizontal, vertical, or inclined (with the liquid moving from bottom to top) and matches the sensor's diameter. Ensure a length of straight pipe both upstream (15-20D) and downstream (5-10D) of the sensor.
2.
The pipe near the liquid sensor must be completely filled with the liquid being measured.
3.
Do not install the sensor on pipes experiencing strong mechanical vibrations.
4.
The inner diameter of the straight pipe should closely match the sensor diameter. If not possible, opt for a slightly larger diameter pipe with an error ≤3%, not exceeding 5mm. Avoid installing the sensor in areas with strong electromagnetic interference, limited space, or inconvenient maintenance..
5.
Horizontal pipeline installation is the most common for flow sensors. For gas flow containing a small amount of liquid, position the sensor at a higher point in the pipeline. For liquid flow containing a small amount of gas, install the sensor at a lower point in the pipeline.
6.
Vertical pipeline sensor installation: For gas flow, install the sensor without flow direction restrictions. If the gas contains a small amount of liquid, the flow should be from bottom to top. For liquid flow, ensure the flow is from bottom to top to prevent additional weight on the probe.
7.
Side installation on horizontal pipelines: Sensors can be side-mounted for any fluid, especially suitable for measuring superheated steam, saturated steam, and low-temperature liquids. Side mounting is preferred if conditions allow, as it minimizes temperature impact on the amplifier.
8.
Inverted installation on horizontal pipelines is generally not recommended. Not suitable for general gases or superheated steam but can measure saturated steam and high-temperature liquids, or in scenarios requiring frequent pipeline cleaning.
9.
For pipelines with insulation layers and high-temperature steam measurement, ensure the insulation does not exceed one-third of the bracket height.
10.
Pressure and temperature measurement points should be selected based on requirements. The pressure measurement point should be 3-5D downstream of the sensor, and the temperature measurement point should be 6-8D downstream of the sensor.
