Installation Requirements

Piping condition
The installation of a vortex flowmeter requires a specific length of straight pipe both before and after the sensor for optimal performance. The standard conditions are as follows (D represents the pipe diameter):

Install the sensor on a horizontal, vertical, or inclined pipe (with liquid flowing from bottom to top) that matches the sensor's diameter. Ensure there is an upstream straight pipe of 15-20D and a downstream straight pipe of 5-10D.
2.
The pipe near the sensor must be filled with the liquid being measured.
3.
Avoid installing the sensor on pipes that experience strong mechanical vibrations.
4.
The inner diameter of the straight pipe should closely match the sensor's diameter. If not possible, use a slightly larger diameter with an error margin of ≤3% and not exceeding 5mm. Do not install the sensor in areas with strong electromagnetic interference, restricted space, or difficult maintenance..

Horizontal pipeline installation is most common. For gas flow with minimal liquid, place the sensor at a higher pipeline point. For liquid flow with minimal gas, place the sensor at a lower point.
6.
Vertical pipeline installation. For gas flow, the sensor can be installed without regard to flow direction. If gas contains liquid, ensure the flow is bottom-to-top. For liquid flow, ensure the flow is also bottom-to-top to avoid probe weight issues.
7.
Side-mounted sensor installation on horizontal pipelines is viable for superheated steam, saturated steam, and low-temperature liquids. Side mounting is preferable as it minimizes temperature effects on the amplifier.
8.
Inverted sensor installation on horizontal pipelines is generally not recommended. It is unsuitable for general gases or superheated steam but can measure saturated steam and high-temperature liquids or be used where frequent pipeline cleaning is necessary.
9.
For high-temperature steam, the insulation layer on the pipeline should not exceed one-third of the bracket height.
10.
Choosing pressure and temperature measurement points: The pressure measurement point should be 3-5D downstream, and the temperature measurement point should be 6-8D downstream of the sensor.
